Queen’s Guards perform Game of Thrones theme

A few weeks ago we posted some pictures up of the Queen’s visit to the set of A Game of Thrones. That was actually in Belfast, Ireland, but today we’ve found out that the Queen brought something from A Game of Thrones back with her to London.

That ‘something’ is the show’s theme tune. Last Tuesday, during the famous changing of the guards in front of Buckingham Palace in London, the guards broke out into a full-length version of the show’s popular theme tune. Seriously. Check it out here:

I wonder if we can convince them to offer our authors (Peter V. Brett, Mark Lawrence, Myke Cole & Joe Abercrombie) A Game of Thrones fanfare in next month’s Grim Gathering. It’s only down the road, right? Anyone got a contact number? Hook us up! 🙂

  1. Now the producers either need to have this recorded without the background noise and have it playing over the end credits one episode next year. Or have it included in the DVD/BluRay releases.
