Free Prequel to ‘The Cathedral of Known Things’ from Edward Cox

We here at Fantasy-Faction were big fans of Edward Cox’s début novel, The Relic Guild. It was a fantasticly written book featuring multiple kinds of magic by an author who shows a lot of potential. Naturally then, we are excited about the upcoming sequel, The Cathedral of Known Things.

To tick us over until the novel is released on October 15th, Edward Cox has released a free audio-short story via Audible called: Champion of Dead Time. Here is the description given to us by Audible:

In the heart of the Retrospective, a demon is awakened from never-ending war with a terrible new purpose…

I know… it’s not much to go on, right? I guess the audio file is only 19 minutes, though… The same, in fact, as his other short story, Hemlock, which was released to coincide with the release of The Relic Guild (and remains free!).

Once you’re done listening to those two be sure to read the following blurb for The Cathedral of Known Things, which Champion of Dead Time serves as a prequel to:

CoxE-R2-CathedralOfKnownThings-BlogIn the end, all things are known. Return to the world of THE RELIC GUILD with this remarkable fantasy novel

Divided, hunted and short on resources, the surviving members of the Relic Guild are in real trouble. Their old enemy, the Genii, and their resurrected master have infiltrated Labrys Town and taken over the police force.

So the Relic Guild must flee their home, and set off on a dangerous journey across the worlds of the Aelfir. One that will lead them to a weapon which might destroy the Genii. Or the whole universe…

And forty years before all this, the war which led to the fall of the Genii continues. And what happens to the Relic Guild during that conflict will change the course of their desperate flight.

If you’ve not picked up The Relic Guild yet you can read our review here.
