We are big fans of Emma Newman here on Fantasy-Faction. Back in the olden times of 2013 we were lucky enough to host a short story from her Split Worlds universe as a lead up to the release of Between Two Thorns. We were also able to do the cover reveal for the second Split Worlds novel, Any Other Name. Since then we have followed Emma’s career and watched her blossom into one the top writers in fantasy today.

So it is with great pleasure that we announce the re-release of the Split Worlds books, complete with brand new covers and an exciting announcement for fans of the series!

Now I’m sure some of you will be a bit shocked at the thought of new covers gracing the Split Worlds books. I must say the originals are some of my favorite fantasy covers ever, and I was skeptical as to how the new ones would measure up. Here are the originals for reference.

Split Worlds (first three covers)

Beautiful aren’t they? Well you will be pleasantly surprised to find that the 2016 covers are just as elegant and haunting as the ones from 2013. Presenting the new Split Worlds covers!

Between Two Thorns (cover 2)

Any Other Name (cover 2)

All is Fair (cover 2)

The split in the Split Worlds is now more prevalent than ever. On each cover one world hovers above the other, the towering spires of their buildings pointing menacingly at the opposing city. Which is the real world, and which is the fantastic? That you must discover inside.

I love the colors of the new art work as well and am very happy they still feature the location of each book. I especially like the delicate lines in the London skyline on Any Other Name. The London Eye, Big Ben and the Tower Bridge in the foreground with the shadows of 30 St Mary Axe and St. Paul’s floating behind them in the fog. All in all a brilliant set of covers worthy of the stories they contain.

But remember, I mentioned an announcement. An exciting announcement! Well let’s not waste anymore time! Presenting the fourth book in Emma Newman’s Split Worlds series: A Little Knowledge!

A Little Knowledge (cover)

This latest addition to the Split Worlds series is due out on August 2nd of this year! And we couldn’t be more excited! But don’t think that’s all we have for you. Later this month we will be speaking with Emma herself in an interview AND hosting a Split Worlds giveaway!

We would like to thank Emma and her new publisher, Diversion Books, for letting us showcase this amazing artwork and hope you are now as excited as we are for the upcoming re-release!

The first three books in the series, Between Two Thorns, Any Other Name, and All Is Fair, will be re-released on February 23rd. The fourth book, A Little Knowledge, is slated to be released on August 2, 2016. And the fifth and final book, All Good Things, will come out one year later in August 2017. 1. Wow, I love the new covers! I think I even prefer them to the older ones – the silhouetting is beautiful, and I love the slightly faded and press-printed look. Haven’t read this series yet but those covers make me keen to.

  2. Thanks so much for the wonderful feedback for the Split Worlds covers! I’m a freelance designer who works with Diversion Books, and I was lucky enough to be commissioned to redesign the Split Worlds series, and I actually designed this set of covers. It’s always a tough one when the previous editions had such beautiful covers, a very tough act to follow – but I think that they turned out really nicely!

Thanks again for the awesome feedback, (and thanks for the wonderful comments in the comments section, too!) and all the best to Emma Newman with the new releases!
