A lot of Fantasy readers are also fans of Role Playing Games, so we’ve stumbled across something we feel we need to share with you!
A group made up of some of our favourite science fiction, fantasy, and gaming writers are preparing to launch a new universe together. It’ll be a world named Vaeron and we’ve been invited (along with anyone who has Internet access… so a few of you?) to explore it with them via Twitch every Tuesday night from 7-10MST (does suck a bit for us GMT folk, because that’s 2am-ish, but we – and anyone else – will be able to catch-up on Youtube from the very next day!).
The show will be called ‘TypeCast RPG’ and throughout the stream, the dungeon master and five game players will make use of the Dungeons and Dragons 5th edition rule system to take their characters through a dark and heroic world in which cities have been built on the backs of slumbering eldritch monsters, stone-age dangers lurk in the lands below, and sky-ships plunder both land and air!
The cast includes:
- Dan Wells will serve as the Dungeon Master for the group.
- Charlie N. Holmberg will be playing Fleeda, a Stone Age human druid with complicated family problems.
- Alan Bahr brings forth Seggrwyrd, the gentlest (and biggest) Jotunnblut barbarian you’ve met.
- Notable Works: Founder of Gallant Knight Games, Creator of TinyD6 RPGs and more. Twitter – Website – Gallant Knight Games
- Robison Wells is Grummund, a scoundrel sky dwarf pirate you’ll cheer for.
- Mari Murdock is Grisk, a half-orc rogue torn between profit and faith, and willing to switch allegiances for the right reward.
- Brian McClellan is Krustov, the kleptomaniac necromancer cleric and atheist (yes, it’s that confusing).
Some fun facts about the cast: between them they’ve sold over 3,000,000 books in more than 30 languages and own the Gemmell, Hugo, SSYRA, Parsec, Whitney and Stabby awards.
The watch-ability of a Roll Playing Game always comes down to how good the story is (well – we know they are going to nail that!) and the entertainment factor, which relies of the dynamic between the players. We’ll be tuning in on April 23rd to see whether Typeset RPG has the potential to overtake Critical Role as our new favourite RPG show… No pressure 😉
TypeCast RPG begins April 23rd, 2019… You can find TypeCast RPG on Twitch, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Patreon, Youtube, and their website. For weekly updates about the show, join their mailing list.
This sounds amazing! Will definitely be checking it out.
