The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy and Horror Films have announced the nominations for this year’s 41st Annual Saturn Awards. Captain America: The Winter Soldier leads the nominations with a total of 11 with the space adventure, Interstellar, receiving 10 nominations. Guardians of the Galaxy follows closely behind with 9 nominations. In television, The Walking Dead tallied up an impressive 7 nominations with the NBC’s Hannibal, eating up 6 nominations.
With the surge of superhero / comic book based television shows, the Academy has created a category just for them, so you will reminded that this year viewers have been treated to Agent Carter, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Arrow, Constantine, The Flash, and Gotham. It’s not just superheroes filling up the list though, as you look over the nominees you can’t help but feel lucky to be an SFF fan, from Godzilla to Planet of the Apes to Game of Thrones to Maleficent to How to Train Your Dragon… there’s just so much variety and so much quality there.
Nominees will now be voted for by the members and affiliate members of the Academy with an announcement of the results at the 41st Annual Saturn Awards which takes place on June 25, 2015. We will let you know who scooped up the awards then… The full list of nominees follow:
