We really like Del Ray books. They make a real effort to connect with genre fans through Suvudu, one of the best Science Fiction & Fantasy blogs around. In addition, their list is absolutely phenomenal – Scott Lynch, George R.R. Martin, Robin Hobb, Naomi Novik to name buy a few. In their latest bid to get new fans to pick up Fantasy and/or Science Fiction or introduce current genre fans to a new series or two the label has put together one of the finest samplers I think I have ever seen compiled. Check this out for a contents page:

Perhaps you’ve seen Game of Thrones on television. but aren’t sure whether you can stomach the books? Perhaps you’ve heard great things about Pierce Brown’s Red Rising, but are not sure about the YA label. Maybe Scott Lynch has been on your radar for a while, but he can’t be ‘that’ good can he? What about the Star Wars novels? Maybe you’ve seen the films but doubt the quality or have never known where to start? Abercrombie? Robin Hobb? Hamilton? Across the 900+ pages there really is something for everyone and, best of all, it is completely free if you are in the US.
