One of our favourite authors, Joe Abercrombie, has released details for his UK and US Tour – it’s not complete, there are still events to be added, but it should give you an idea as to where you can track the handsome, loveable rogue down and have him sign a copy of the highly anticipated (and very excellent!) Half a King.

If you were at the Fantasy-Faction event we ran a couple of years ago you may remember Joe, Myke Cole and Peter V. Brett talking about how important it is to support bookshops and I think this is especially true if you are attending a signing. Yep, you could probably save yourself a couple pennies by ordering the book off Amazon (or ebay) and heading to the bookshop to meet Joe, but if a book shop is willing to host an author (remember, they don’t charge authors – they instead hope that people will buy the book) then it seems right to thank them by buying a copy at their store if you can. I can’t imagine there is much fun in being a book store manager struggling to manage a queue of 50 people jostling to see an author and then checking sales later to see that they’ve sold only two copies of that author’s book. That said, Joe is a stand-up guy and I’m sure that no matter where you bought the book he’d sign it – I’m just adding my thoughts 🙂
