Fantasy-Faction is very sorry to hear of the passing of Carrie Fisher, the actress known globally for her role as Princess Leia Organa in the Star Wars movies.

Carrie Fisher suffered a heart attack during a flight to Los Angeles from London on Friday and had been in an American hospital since.

The news will come as a shock to many. Just 60 years old, the actress had recently stared in a blockbuster hit, Star Wars Episode VIII, and appeared both happy and healthy over the course of the last year or so as she appeared on television shows to discuss and promote the movie.

Carrie’s daughter, Billie Lourd, issued the following statement:

“It is with a very deep sadness that Billie Lourd confirms that her beloved mother Carrie Fisher passed away at 8:55 this morning. She was loved by the world and she will be missed profoundly.”

Our thoughts are with Carrie’s family and we thank Carrie Fisher for her portrayal of Leia that undoubtedly influenced many of today’s writers and directors.

  1. I just saw Rogue One for the first time. I teared up at the final scene. It’s all the more poignant now. In a bizarre way it presciently became a tribute to Carrie Fisher.
