Within ‘The Hobbit’, J.R.R. Tolkien used words to craft one of the most memorable fantastical beasts all time; the massive, fire-breathing Dragon, Smaug.
One reader wasn’t content to use just those words and her imagination to shape our good friend, Smaug, though – oh no! Victoria, an artist based out of Denmark who specialises in creating animals out of recycled goods, has gone-ahead and created a sculpture of Smaug from the pages of her pre-read copy of The Hobbit. The scaly, menacing dragon leers around the cover of the book, seeking a tiny Bilbo, who cowers under his searching gaze. That’s one way of truly bringing a book to life! :O

I can’t decide between being amazed or horrified. Smaug’s beautiful but the poor book! Tearing and crumpling, hurting it… 🙁
UGH. THAT IS SO COOL.
