Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures have released a new trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to 300, “300: Rise of an Empire”.
“After its victory over Leonidas’ 300, the Persian Army under the command of Xerxes marches towards the major Greek city-states. The Democratic city of Athens, first on the path of Xerxes’ army, bases its strength on its fleet, led by admiral Themistocles. Themistocles is forced to an unwilling alliance with the traditional rival of Athens, oligarchic Sparta whose might lies with its superior infantry troops. But Xerxes still reigns supreme in numbers over sea and land.”
The pretty lengthy trailer features some awesome battles in the film’s signature style – both on land and sea.
What do you guys think? You going to make an effort to go see it?
This quote excites me (although I am a little nervous about whether this sequel can live up to the first):
“If you took 300 and you zoomed up, you get this movie,” director Noam Murro told us at Comic-Con. “It takes place about the same time; it’s just bigger and just gives a different scale and scope to what happened historically.”
I’m gratified that it sticks with that historical fact that Ancient Greeks could fly dozens of feet into the air.
