Adrian Tchaikovsky’s Sword & Sorcery tale snapped up by Tor.com

Adrian_Tchaikovsky_001Good news Tchaikovsky fans! Adrian has had a novel-length sword and sorcery tale snapped up by Tor. com. We’re pretty excited about this and with Tor.com too. Essentially, this future-thinking and future-feeling idea of focusing on the publishing of work digitally through the web could well be how almost all fiction is published in the near future. If you’ve not yet heard about Tor.com then they’re about to publish their first books very soon and the way things will work is that the novels will be available and promoted in digital formats, although Print On Demand and Audiobooks will be available – that really isn’t their focus. The fact that authors such as Adrian Tchaikovsky is signing with the company is a very good sign – so too is the acquisition of former Angry Robot Editor, Lee Harris.

Anyway, here is the book blurb:

The Church of Armes of the Light has battled the forces of Darkness for as long as anyone can remember. The Great Prophecy has foretold that a band of misfits, led by the High Priestess Dion will defeat the Dark Lord Darvezian, armed with their wits, the blessing of the Light and a fang belonging to the spider queen.

Their journey will be long, hard and fraught with danger. Allies will become enemies; enemies will become allies. And the Dark Lord will be waiting…

Tor.com Promise that: “This book has it all—some fantastic set pieces and a wonderful cast of characters. All the usual suspects are there in our band of merry travelers: the High Priestess, the Mage, the Warriors, the Thief, and the Giant Spider. Wait, what? This is an enormously fun read, and we can’t wait to share it with you!”

The novel – Spiderlight – is set for release in Summer 2016, we will, of course, let you know as we hear more 🙂
