The idea of ordinary people acquiring superpowers brings to mind the classic comic book struggles between epic heroes and supervillains: Humanity’s last hope using their superhuman abilities to save the Earth from the powers of darkness. But what if there were no superheroes, only supervillains? What if humanity’s last hope was humanity itself?
That’s the basis for Brandon Sanderson’s latest book Steelheart.
Here at Fantasy-Faction we are big Sanderson fans. So when Gollancz approached us with an offer to post the exclusive trailer for Steelheart, we were just a wee bit excited! 😀 And rather than go on and on about it, I’ll let the trailer speak for itself.
How cool is that? Brandon Sanderson has done it again! A new story in a new world that is totally different from his other work and sounds fantastic on top of that! As a big superhero (and supervillain) fan, this is going to the top of my to-read list. And I hope it’s on yours too.
Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson is out today. You can learn more about this and Brandon’s other works on his website or you can follow him on Twitter.
I’ve always loved the covers to his books. Though I hope this is better than the prologue we got. Good, but not near his best.
I like how Sanderson does he’s own take on the various genres. He’s done epic fantasy, sword & sorcery, steampunk, now a superhero type one. I am very curious.
