Want 7 Free Chapters of 2014’s Best Fantasy?

A few weeks back we spoke about how one of 2014’s most highly touted Fantasy novels was having the first seven chapters serialised through Tor.com.

Well, having now finished their online serialisation, the publishers of The Emperor’s Blades have now made the first seven chapters of the novel available on the Nook, Kindle, iPad, or your preferred e-reader, absolutely free!

Although the whole book will be released in January 2014, this is a great way for fantasy readers who like to stay at the very forefront of ‘what is hot’ to jump into a new series over Christmas. Agreed, seven chapters probably won’t take you a month, but it will allow you to chat with friend and fantasy fans through Twitter about what my happen next. I’ll put the links at the bottom of this post, but first try to tempt you in with some blurb:

The emperor of Annur is dead, slain by enemies unknown. His daughter and two sons, scattered across the world, do what they must to stay alive and unmask the assassins.

Kaden, the heir to the Unhewn Throne, has spent eight years sequestered in a remote mountain monastery, learning the enigmatic discipline of monks devoted to the Blank God. An ocean away, Valyn endures the brutal training of the Kettral, elite soldiers who fly into battle on gigantic black hawks. At the heart of the empire, Minister Adare, elevated to her station by one of the emperor’s final acts, is determined to prove herself to her people. Will their quest for justice come at the cost of their own destinies?
