Unfortunately I am still in the "before I was a writer" stage... I've been a lot of things, but I'm currently a software engineer with a hobby for writing. Hopefully that can change in the future.

Eh, so far as I'm concerned, anyone who writes is a writer. So don't sell yourself short. Whether or not you've managed to get published yet, if you're writing, you're a writer. If you want to get there, you'll get there.

For my part, I can't really remember a time when I *wasn't* writing. I got started super young ... I was writing little stories (with actual narratives) in ... maybe 1st grade? So, it's been awhile. I've just always had stories in my head and the desire to write them down and share them.

So I guess I've never NOT been a writer. :0

I was and still am an MD. Even if my sales somehow explode into never-never land, I can't imagine giving up medicine. Maybe working part time or something but not just quitting.

I am a freelance translator. The flexible hours, choosing my own projects etc. leaves me with a lot of spare time for writing. My job is not really something that can be applied to my writing (fantasy) directly, but it does mean I spend pretty much all day with my head in language and words, whether it's working or writing.

Danish is my native language (and through that I've worked a bit with Norwegian). I primarily translate to and from English, though I have on occasion dabbled in German as well.
