In no particular order: Brave Fencer Musashi, Legend Of Galgameth, Grandia, Final Fantasy 7, Ghost In The Shell, Ergo Proxy, Serial Experiments Lain, Elfen Lied, H.P. Lovecraft, Now And Then Here And There among others like Star Ocean.

My room mate seems to think Grandia is the most obvious. Mostly in my way of having a thing for high tech fairies.

Brave Fencer Musashi and Legend Of Galgameth were my core of wanting to end issues with damsels in distress. Grandia influenced me with high tech fairies. The setting of FF7 influenced the Potato District in Uploaded Fairy. H.P. Lovecraft influences how I tend to craft my monsters, but in reverse--I have thing for eldritchian psychology.

I'm very Western Horror and Japanese Cyberpunk influenced.

I have a hard time remembering my dreams. As soon as I wake, they're basically gone.

I used to mainly be inspired from dreams, combining them with above influences.

But now that night terrors are few and far between now, it's not as reliable as it once was unless I did purely magic realism.

Kinda.

I'll have a dream and at the time it'll be the best idea ever, all the details are in place and when I wake up I just have to jot down a few things then publishers will be clawing at me just to read the first damned line.

Then when I wake up it'll be the most incoherent crap.

Quite often actually. Usually I like to carry over a basic image or idea and insert it in my story some how. I like to think that my dreams might be trying to tell me something that my awakened, distracted mind can't.
I don't even know what to put here yet

My initial inspiration for stories comes from aspects of what I enjoy or dislike in my life and the world, dreams and wishes. For plot points in a novel my best ideas come to me when I'm playing with my 4 year old. There may be something to the psychological aspect of playing in the manner of a child, or it could simply be being happy and relaxed is how my imagination works best.

Quite a few actually.

Believe it or not, a lot of mine come from dreams. I must have a messed up brain...

Can't say I ever had anything resembling a useful idea coming from my dreams.

There was a time - 5 or more days in a row, when I was dreaming about different scenarios of "the end of the world". I even had a voice narrating it. I thought I was slowly going insane...

Never used it as a plot idea, but it has a wonderfull potential in it. Right seed must fall on a right ground.
