I find literary fiction the weirdest term for a genre. Isn't all fiction literature of a sort?

Agree. I can never quite suss if contemporary fiction is the same thing, or a similar thing.

True but, to be fair, I have the same issue differentiating many of the fantasy sub-genres.

I have the same thing differentiating MANY genres. xD I'm such an eclectic reader I don't tend to think of them as genres.. I try to but when I get reading it's just "good book".
