'The White Fire Stones' is now about 42,500 words after writing nearly 2K today. Next I need write all of the quiet penultimate chapter. Then finish last the chapter (the basic ending is written). That will be a complete first draft, though will later need some summary narrative converted to direct character action and dialogue. It's the second of the Trader's Isle series.

My best Beta reader is about half way through The Seven Talismans, the first book in this series. I'm already thinking about the plot of the third book and how the series may finish, though each book works stand alone.

I'm around 20k words for the sequel to my first novel. (Yeah, I know, it isn't even close to getting published yet, but still) I'm liking the direction the story is going in so far.

There is an advantage in NOT having N-1 book of the Nth book in a series not published. You may realize you either made an error, or can make earlier book better or need to "recon" (change it to fix current WIP). Obviously no-one will know you changed n-1.

I like to be at least 2 books ahead of what's published and have the 3rd as a WIP.

Took me two weeks to settle on and plan out a project, but yesterday I finally managed to get a thousand words done. Looking at a couple hundred more today. Early days yet, but I have a good feeling about this one.

Wrote 666 words for the Living Sword 3 today. When I saw that number, I knew I had to share.

1500 words in one go last night. Quite surprised with myself.

Though that followed a realization after writing 18000 words for chapter one, that I actually should just start the story with chapter 3 instead.

Yesterday did the final thousand words on a novella I've had on the back burner since it started with one of the monthly contests.

Had my sole beta reader give feedback and just tweaked the odd thing today, still need to go through it properly though, add a little more backstory and maybe tone down the POVs descriptions to better suit his education/personality.

Added about 2,400 words today to "The Mission's Talent". Most of what is left to do is in one chapter, then I'll make an epub2 and proof & annotate on my kobo ereader, it's superior for that than a Kindle. Then import annotations via Calibre.
I did get up at 4 am, and it's now after 7pm. I did take a snooze at one stage as well as meals
Time to go read a book.

It looks like the complete draft will be about 120K words.

I've fallen into a nice routine where I write around 10,000 a week. Though that's with some days being 0 due to work. Still, there are worse places to be.

Finished January with 40,000 word written. Progress has been a little slow today, but that's usual for me when I get near the middle of a WIP. Still aiming to do around 1000 a day.

I had written two whole short stories yesterday, clocking in around 4,000 words. That came pretty much rare nowadays, and whoo, what a day that was!

Hit a rough patch last week, but now I'm back on track. Hit a total of 50,000 words yesterday. We're in the home run now.
