Wrote maybe 300 words last night for “Air”, but it’s not really breathing.

A thousand words yesterday, a couple hundred more today. I'm really feeling the end of this WIP approaching now.

Only wrote a few hundred today, but that was all I needed. For the first time ever, I have finished writing a first draft novel. Think I might take a break before diving into something new though.

After a slow couple of months, I managed 500 for Air and 900 on my main project. Its a bit waffly, but the first day back after a pause always sees to be for me, while I try to find my way again. it feels much harder to write now I have constrained it to a route for the last part of the book rather than letting the characters play freely, and one is so far behind because they have to do their big switch in role to develop into my antagonist. I suppose I am worried about trying to keep the reader on their side for as long as possible before it becomes obvious and its slowing me hugely.

I also opened a new scrivener project for my little Selkie from November, as I feel she deserves more time at some point.

Air is a little hard to get your hands around. Sorta airy i suppose.

Unexpectedly got in around 3,000 words for a whole new short story yesterday after months of hiatus (and despite my plan to not write for years more), so that's really great.  :D

2061 words today. A good start to the new project.

I have come to the conclusion, after several years of floundering, that the secret to revision is to actually not care if its any good or not
(and just tell the damn story and try to have fun again).

I managed 700 words today and 1,000 yesterday. Not my best, but way better than the 0's I've been managing.

I've been trying to write this story for the past year or so, but it's been slow-to-no going. It's pretty hard just taking the first steps with writing a book sometimes; it's a lot easier to breach it with some short stories first and use the momentum to tackle the book after, which is what I'm trying to do here. At the very least, it's extra practice.
He who seeks to cook the egg, must first look into himself, and find the recipe within.

Nothing yet, but I'm looking to do some writing and editing after dinner. I'm not going to track my word count because I've found doing so actually stifles my productivity.

I've had two straight good days of writing now. I'm trying not to focus on the word counts, as I said in my previous posts.

About 1500 words today... after that it slows down or the words feel forced..

Still going strong. Now I'm 64,000 words into my newest book. It's probably going to be a bit shorter too, so I'm pretty close to the end (anticipating a word count around 80k for the book).

I wrote something!!!! I wrote something!!!!

I re-wrote the opening paragraphs of Chapter 1 of my WIP... for probably the 900,000th time.  But I think I'm close to something final-ish here....
