half the time I don't even follow it because the plot gravitates towards something else

That's what I meant when I said mine isn't set in stone. But I do modify the outline as the story changes because events on one chapter might have some ramification for something later on. And otherwise the outline gets so out of date, it's worthless.

Back on topic... I got 1,417 words yesterday. Hope to get a few more today.

I think I wrote about 1,400. More importantly, however I actually finished the whole damn thing.

It's only taken me, what, two years?  8)

I am ALMOST done with the reread/edit of the bit of my second book that's done. That will put me at the point I stopped writing and I'll actually have to start doing some scenes from scratch again! o.o I put off writing for a while due to stress and I was worried about starting up again. But now that I'm back in the story and getting back to where I left off, I am stoked to finish this book. :)

Good to have you back, Autumn2May.

I got 1595 today and something like 1800 yesterday. Over 132,000 now. Almost there.

Thanks! It's good to be back. :) Mostly. My words aren't wording today. :P

I thought I had a rough draft of the next scene I'm working on, but it seems to have gone missing. Which means I have to rewrite it from scratch. The words are not cooperating though. I haven't written with the kids awake in a while and it's messing with my rhythm. Hopefully it will sort itself out though. I'm really excited to do the scene after this one. :)

129,620 pulled out of skydrive last night after a year? of cold storage. Know it in and out, so didn't bother with a reread.

The second draft begins today!  ;D

3,425 added this morning/afternoon. Gonna have to do some whittling in some parts, but I figure I'll over-write and then nip-tuck it. Don't want to cross 150 k.

My mouse is buggy though... Finish the second draft by next week, week after next, then yay - testing with family and friends!!!!!!! How exciting is it supposed to be to have a finished novel, because I feel like someone is slipping something into my food.

Only got 400 words in novel 2 :(

Funny how realizing you're gonna die kickstarts you into getting stuff done!!!

Rewrote that scene I lost. Ended up being about 1,000 words. It's not polished, but this is draft one, so I'm just happy it's down and done. :)

I think I have three more chapters to read through, then I'm finally on to writing new stuff and finishing this book!

A measly 370 in novel 1. Deleted two sentences from novel 2 that I thought were redundant. :'( Spent more time doing plot work and research, and tagging my music on MediaMonkey and lyrics fetching. I'm in the F's ;D

Also Photoshop... Want to learn this and do my own cover art. If you get it published, do they let you do your own cover art? At least the basic sketch-up? Depends?

1,363 yesterday. Hoping for better than that today.

Most, if not all, traditional pub's have their own artists, so I don't think they would let you do your own cover. From what I've heard, they don't even let you have any input. They're assuming all the risk, so they're going to want to make sure it's professional.

I tried doing my own covers and finally came to the conclusion that a graphics artist I am not. LOL. Seriously, if you aren't like me and have some skill with Photoshop, etc. and are considering the indie route, then go for it. Otherwise, hire someone who knows what they're doing. The cover is one of the most important things--it's what makes people want to pick up your book. If money is a concern, take a look at some of the pre-mades. Some of them are ok. Takes a while to go through them, though.

Ugh. Tired. 2,663 for today, putting me over 4,000 for the weekend.

Should hit 150,000 total at this rate. I'm at 139,000 now with just over 2 chapters to go in this epic 5 chapter finale.

Ready for a beer. :-)
