Oh I gave up on Day 3. Just thought I'd officially confirm that. :D

Also I'm totally fine with giving up.

Awesome work.

In that time, I've gotten about 4k towards my NaNoWriMo project (way, way behind schedule -- I got stuck when I realized I needed to introduce a second main character -- and couldn't decide who that character was), done a partial edit on an old piece for Writing Group, partially brainstormed a Monthly Writing Contest story...

... and learned that I cannot multitask my writing.

I can multitask writing very well with *other* non-writing activities, but I can't properly ruminate on more than one writing project at a time.

Ditto.

I managed about 2500 words and... yeah. Next year I'll have a plan ready!

i'm at 5500-ish words.  rolling a little over 500 a day.

my main problem is that i don't have any more time.  i don't really know what i was expecting tho.  come to find out, the 500-1000 words a day i've been writing during non-writing-group-critique months is about the limit of my daily availability/capability -- rah-rah-leaderboard or not.

So, NaNo reached the 15th day mark.

Expected: 25.005 words
Written:    27.275 words. I think that included the ~700 words of an idea of another story i had during this, so it may be ~26.575.

I'm one day, at best two, ahead of schedule  :)

Slow and steady wins the race.

Written   : 43.105

7 days to write 7k. Not bad. Plus wrote around 1k not related to the NaNo story.

First NaNo with 14 351 words. That's not even 500 words a day. :F
Notes to myself for the next year:

- You might think you are a pantser, but in the end the only thing that covers your tears now, are those pants you sticked on your head to hide your regrets.
- Dude. Like... you have a laptop. A tablet. And a smartphone. Dude. Why have you decided to write on paper? Just why...
- It's really irrelevant for a story what kind of metabolism your monsters have and why. Or what kind of enzyme do they use to transport oxygene.
- You also don't need a scheme of it.
- What you need is an outline. Story outline. But not a simple: " Magical dinosaurs are doing stuff, screaming 'Witness me', and dying".
- It's zero draft so it will look as bad as you in a mirror.
- Speaking of which - if you had been writing on your pc, you would be able to edit everything with ease.
- But you were not...
- I'm not telling you that you are stupid. But neither you are smart.
- Better luck next time. <sobs in a corner>
"The world is full of stories, and from time to time, they permit themselves to be told."
