Steelheart (Steelheart #1) by Brandon Sanderson (aka Brandonbot) is set to release September 24, 2013

Ten years ago, Calamity came. It was a burst in the sky that gave ordinary men and women extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.

But Epics are no friend of man. With incredible gifts came the desire to rule. And to rule man you must crush his wills.

Nobody fights the Epics... nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, they spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

And David wants in. He wants Steelheart—the Epic who is said to be invincible. The Epic who killed David's father. For years, like the Reckoners, David's been studying, and planning—and he has something they need. Not an object, but an experience.

He's seen Steelheart bleed. And he wants revenge

This does sound pretty good.
This man's work ethic is creepy. In God's place he would've created the earth in 4 days, I'm sure.

I think I will just limit myself to the Stormlight Archives by him now - loved volume 1. So good.

But Elantris and Alloy of Law were pretty weak IMHO.  Just felt a bit safe and almost 80s cartoonish in how family friendly they were.

Legion was interesting though and might read some more if he follows up on that idea.

Actually... I do agree a little here. There's next to no grit in his books, just lacks a certain sense of realism. I still like them but very odd.

He really is a bot. Insanely efficient!
I haven't caught up on his other books yet, still got WOTK2, legion and another two to read. :/
He's a bloomin' machine! So long as he doesn't glitch or catch a virus we'll be kept well stocked in new books for years to come :)

Legion was brilliant! I hope if he does more he keeps them at that length, rather than giving us yet another 10,000 page epic.

I found Final Empire to be a massively over-rated YA book in disguise.
