Novel: Pike's Quest
Genre: Fantasy/humour/family/YA
Format: Mobi/Kindle
For sale at: Amazon - .co.uk - .com - .de - .fr

BLURB
==============

It is the year 911 of the New Dawn.

In a future where horses are revered as gifts of the gods, and sheep and hounds are the beasts of burden, ancient magicks have been rediscovered. But there are those who wish to uncover the technology of the past and take control of the world for their own evil ends. Now, more than ever, the world needs a hero.

In the tiny hamlet of Ooze, a hapless, fish-faced, flaky-skinned youth named Pike is about to commence a quest: to win the heart of the fair maiden at the Pit of Zidor, and to release Moorlock the Warlock from the captivity of his mortal enemy. Accompanied by a garrulous sparrow and a belligerent horse, Pike is captured and then employed by the lisping Lord Nairey du Well in his sheep-drawn carriage, and then pursued by the deadly huntress, Scarlet Deadnight - du Well’s partner in tyranny.

Pike soon discovers:
- that fair maidens are not always female,
- that they can prove to be deadly foes, and
- the true value of a good moisturiser!

This comic fantasy turns the genre on its head and is a must for readers of all ages.

---------------------------
Praise for ‘Pike’s Quest’:

“What’s not to love? Engaging characters, sparkling wit and a Quest! As well as a horse called Horse and a sparrow called Robyn Fynch.” - Jonathan Pinnock, author of ‘Mrs Darcy versus the Aliens’

“You write beautifully ... it’s probably the best-written submission I have received in the past few months.” – Karolina Sutton (June 2009), Literary Agent

“I've read the first part of ‘Pike's Quest’ - loving it (oh the depth of my critique astounds me). Fantastic, and hits the right tone brilliantly." - Mandy Knight, Comedian, Actor, Writer

I have 5 reviewer copies to give away – they are identical to the ‘for sale’ version except the formatting (using Calibre) for some reason inserted a couple of blank pages here and there. First 5 to contact me can have them as long as they agree to post a review on Amazon. Approx 61,300 words. File size is 626 KB and I can e-mail it.

Genre: Dark/Epic Fantasy
Length: ~300 pages

Back Cover Blurb: EXMORTUS is the story of Ash Xavier, a headstrong young knight whose faith is challenged when the long-forgotten gods of ancient civilizations send their avatar to obliterate the remote holy fortress of Exmortus Abbey —his home.

EXMORTUS, BOOK I: TOWERS OF DAWN is not your typical, run-of-the-mill fantasy. It is a work of epic dark fantasy in the mold of George R.R. Martin or Gene Wolfe, with fresh angles on the classic literary problems of growing into adulthood, sword-and-sorcery adventure, love and sex, friendship and betrayal, guilt and innocence, murder and exile, battles on land and at sea, creepy demons and unsolved mysteries coming to life at the worst possible times.

But when he’s visited by Ra-Kit, a magic cat with a bad catnip habit on a life or death mission, he is ill prepared for the assignment she blackmails him to accept – to represent the Animal Kingdom before the United Nations' Summit on Global Warming.

Together, Zak, Ra-Kit and Sampson, Ra-Kit's  canine traveling companion, must persuade the world governments to stop poisoning the planet or face a global rebellion of the animals that could cost millions of lives on both sides and throw the world into irreversible chaos.

Bio Vita Tech, the research lab he works for, is excited about the possibilities. So are their foreign competitors who are counting on their inside man at Bio Vita to deliver Adam's secret into their hands.

Everyone seems to want a sample of Adam's formula, except his college buddy, Flip MacDougal, who makes a surprise visit to Bio Vita to play a practical joke on his old friend. Unfortunately, it's Flip who ends up with the sample. His world is turned upside down as he struggles and maneuvers his way through the trouble he has gotten himself into as he unwittingly spreads his “gift” to others.

Death feeds life in the world of Denestia. The shade advances, bathing the land in blood as they massacre all before them. Magics and creatures long thought dead rise again.

To the east, in Ostania, an ancient clan re-emerges to begin their conquest anew, leaving carnage in their wake. To the west, the ruling Granadian Tribunal tries to maintain its stranglehold on its empire while expanding into Ostanian lands under the premise of converting the ‘uncivilized’ to the path of enlightenment.

Hope rests on the swords, intelligence, and power of four:

Ryne, a living legend at the edge of madness, haunted by a murderous past, the voices of his power that whisper in his head, and hunted by the Tribunal, strives to defend a village he swore to protect.

Ancel, a gifted student who has lost his way due to a love spurned, is stalked by the shade's minions and must learn to accept who he is or perish.

Irmina, Ancel's former lover, an assassin mired in her quest for revenge on those who destroyed her family must put her emotions aside or fail her final test.

And Galiana Calestis, Ancel's Teacher, whose greatest wish is to see her people survive, must manipulate whoever she sees fit to help the Chronicles come to pass.

Between warring nations, vengeful leaders, magic and steel, myth and men, the fate of the world hangs in the balance. Who can unite the kingdoms against the encroaching darkness? Who shall bring the power that drives the world to heel? Who will walk the knife’s edge of harmony? If none can, then Denestia is doomed.

To see if indeed you would consider reading it you can go to my blog here: Etchings of Power Sample . You will find sample chapters, maps, character introductions with excerpts, some of the worldbuilding etc.

Arri struggles to find his place among his new masters who think of humans as playthings, who on a whim can reach into his mind and transform his emotions, who care nothing for anyone but themselves... but who might just be the least evil among the powerful creatures who inhabit the darkness between the stars.

Hey guys

I'm clearly discovering this thread several months on but it ties in with my plans to incorporate a monthly review into my blog. I want to focus on small press/self-published works by new authors and this seems an appropriate place to post this.

I'll be looking to write 500+ish word reviews on a monthly basis which will be posted on my blog and tweeted round so hopefully this will generate some genre specific interest for you.

So there it is. I'm now looking for the first title to get the reviews started online before Christmas so if any of you want to get in touch and volunteer to kick of the new monthly book review addition to my blog please do. I'm elloise@elloisehopkins.biz or @elloisehopkins on Twitter. I'm a bit behind the times and I notice a lot of these posts have been up for months so give us an update. If you are still looking for reviews contact me or reply to me here and I'll be happy to help.

Elloise.

Website URL: http://www.jeffreygetzin.com
Novel Title: Prince of Bryanae
Genre: Dark Fantasy / Adventure
Length: 458 pages
Format: 6"x9" softcover
Back Cover Blurb:

VENGEANCE FROM THE PAST

After over a century of valiant service, the elven soldier Willow has buried her past so deeply that even she has forgotten it. But it hasn't forgotten her. Now old enemies have found her and have kidnapped the Prince of Bryanae before her very eyes! Considered by most of Bryanae to be a traitor and coward, Willow must confront her fears and plunge headlong into the heart of the enemy empire to rescue the Prince and return him safely home.

An army of fierce warriors stands in her way, led by the mad and seemingly immortal Warlord. Willow must use every resource at her disposal if she is to save the Prince, even if that means relying on the headstrong and lovesick Private Tamlevar, the inscrutable winged mage Suel, or the dashing but devious Captain Snyde.

Willow has been honing her combat and weaponry skills for over 150 years. Now it is time to put that practice to good use. The fates of four races and two kingdoms hang in the balance.

How Many Copies Available for Reviewers: Infinite (eBook), 2-3 (softcover)

Stipulations: You can post your reviews anywhere that you think would benefit from your thoughts. That includes any blogs, websites, and web merchants. You can indeed pass your copy to another reviewer; the only stipulation is that if I give you a copy, I get a review.

I do ask that potential reviewers read a few of the comments about the book on Amazon.com or Goodreads so that they know what they're getting into. This book is quite dark in places and I want to make sure my book reaches the right audiences.

All review copies are free, of course.
