Please take advantage of this, I've read the first 2 books and they are really good! :D

Fantasy with an eastern accent, really great 2 magic systems (I preferred the one developed in book 2).
I'll be buying book 3 when the paperback comes out, in a couple of weeks.

By the way, Amazon is currently listing the series as a "two-part trilogy"  :o

Not sure why, but then again Amazon does weird things with their series listings.

I picked up the books since I have a trip coming up and I was looking for some new reading material. I'm excited to read a fantasy series set in Asia, since I really enjoy series that are set in non-european cultures.

Hey,

Thanks for giving it a try! As for Amazon... I know!?! I've yet to work out how to change it - or get them to change it.

Thanks again!

D.Adams wrote a 5 paqrt trilogy so you could always just go with it.
If I hadn't bought the ebooks in December I would pick them up now.

Why did I only find this thread now??
Anyways... If you are atill interested in answers to your old questions... ;)
I don't have a problem with the typical western fantasy setting, but it is not what makes me pick up a book.
I think the reason why so many books have such a setting ia partly because there are so many american/english authors dominating the market. And they will write about what they know best.

I do love to read some other settings in between (and I don't have to tell you I loved your books!), and enjoyed Guy Gavriel Kays or Liam Hearnes books for example. Most fantasy that is not western seems to be Asian though - I can't remember even one fantasy book I've read that had a setting like Africa or middle east.

What makes ME pick up a book is an interesting plot and a cover that catches my eye, not the setting. :)
