Net Galley

Has anyone here used Net Galley in an attempt to get reviews. Usually it costs $600 for a six month slot, but Kobo offers one month promotions for $40. Reviews are hard to get, so I'm giving it a try. For readers, you get to read the books for free and are encouraged to review (an account is needed).

Here are the 19 titles being offered this month (disclaimer—my novel is one of the few fantasy novels this month) https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/publisher/82818/recentlyAdded?text=

Has anyone tried this or any similar service? What were your results?

The Traitor God is on there right now, but then Angry Robot put all their books up on there so there are a number of reviews and some buzz before they are available to buy to the public. It's early days but so far I only have the one review, but I'm not sure how many Netgalley reviews are then replicated on Goodreads and Amazon; I think that's entirely at the whim of the reviewers.

Yes. Kobo told me that I'd have to ask any reviewers to upload their reviews themselves if I wanted them on Kobo, Amazon etc.
