How should publishers treat writers? Take a short survey

I'm an editor at a small progressive press. We're in the process of expanding and we'd like to have authors' opinions as we move forward. It would be helpful for us to get as many writers' opinions as possible. The survey can be found here. It's anonymous and takes only a few minutes to complete. (There are seven questions.)

What brought this on is the number of astonishingly bad contracts we've seen from small, usually digital first publishers. Writers who sign with these places are usually unrepresented by an agent, so they're on their own in terms of making decisions/negotiating the contract. We're examining how we might be able to change what seems to be the standard for this business model. We'll publish the results when the sample size is large enough.
