Firing all of my guns at once.

Hello everyone. It's been quite a while since I posted. To tell you the truth, I kind of forgot about this place until I just received an email from our Overlord.

For those of you who don't know me (I'm guessing the vast majority), I'm Robert Bevan, the author of Critical Failures, and the rest of the Caverns and Creatures series.

Being self-published, I've had to rely on myself for marketing, and I like to think I've been doing a pretty good job of it. A big part of my strategy is writing short stories which tie into the novel series. 'Side adventures', if you will. They're fun to write, quick, and (perhaps most importantly) take up the same amount of space on an Amazon top 100 list. More titles = more visibility.

The strategy has been working well enough so far, but a couple of months ago, I decided to take a gamble. I'm conducting a promotion experiment that I have very high hopes for.

The main gist of it is, as the subject of this thread says, firing all of my guns at once. I had a really good experience with a Bookbub ad a while back, and I had another good experience with a Kindle Countdown promotion. The promotion I've got planned for May 11th is a combination of the two, but will include all 16 of my titles (for the Kindle Countdown... the Bookbub ad will only be for the first novel).

The hypothesis of this experiment is that the combination of all of this will result in... well I'm not exactly sure. Words like "chain reaction", "exponential", "supernova", and "critical mass" come to mind. But it could just as easily be a big flop. Less than two weeks until I find out.

If you'd like to see a more detailed (and entertaining) version of my big plan, have a look at the blog post I wrote up for it. And cut me some slack... I'm a beginning blogger.
