Blackbirds was great and the sequel Mockingbird is out soon, too. If you like Disappearing Nightly there are 3 more of those (Doppelgangster, Unsympathetic Magic and Vamparazzi, the 5th Esther Diamond Polterheist is due out later this year). Disappearing Nightly originally came out in 2005 published by Luna and didn't work out. Laura changed publishers and put out the other 3, she just recently got the rights back to Disappearing Nightly and DAW reissued it, which is why I read them out order.

I decided to re-read Richard Kadrey's Aloha From Hell, aka book 3 of the Sandman Slim series, in anticipation of book four, Devil Said Bang coming out next week.

The next Toby Daye book, Ashes of Honor, is also coming out - beginning of September.

Yes, I'll be haunting the stores looking for Ashes of Honor once it's released. I'm currently reading Tricked, and I think I'm going to be Atticused out by then, but I should be refreshed and ready for more by the time Trapped releases.

Finished Hounded recently and have to say I really enjoyed it and casually brought hammered rather than hexed when i went to waterstones school boy error so was rather lacking a good UF for holiday reading.

I can also throw my support behind the whispers underground series thought that they have been really well done and nicely paced through out. I think the 3rd one has been the stand out so far certainly asked some questions that im looking forward to finding out the answers to.

also very much looking forward to the new Dresden coming out at the end of the year

So i suposed Hexed shall be the next UF book for me after all that! If i can manage to buy the right one this time.

I finished Tricked last week, so I'm done with Kevin Hearne until Trapped comes out. I picked up Yasmine Galenorn's Witchling over the weekend. I'd been interested in the concept of that series for a while, but I didn't want to read any of them until I could find the opener which is Witchling and I finally managed to see a copy of it on Saturday.

Tricked kind of seems to finish off the original story arc. Trapped is the 5th one, not sure when it's out, but soonish I think.

I fricken LOVED this series. I found it about 3 months ago, and tore through all the available books! Hanging out for the next one now :D
I literally have one complaint about the entire series, but I don't want to spoil anything for you... She does this same thing in another of her series also, I thought it was a really poor way to ensure there was conflict.

Oh cool, a positive review from someone whose tastes have often coincided with mine. Now I'm eager.

Heh I always keep an eye on what you say your reading, if you say you liked something the odds are pretty high I will too. :D
It really is good. The story is engaging, I really liked the method she used to write the series. It has its moments of "what is going here?" but the same can be said for almost any series, especially in the UF/Paranormal genre.
To me it felt like I was reading a dirtier and darker version of Seanan McGuire - should give you a good indication of what it's like.

I started Witchling this morning, GYH. I like it, the girls are very sexy and sassy. I find it a lot brighter and shinier than Toby, though. I love Toby, but she can be a bit emo at times. I do wonder if this in part didn't help to inspire Seanan to write Toby.
