My husband has been telling me I should read the Sprawl trilogy for a while now, so last night I finally started reading Neuromancer. I'm liking it so far. He owns all the books, so once I'm done with the first one, I'm planning on starting Count Zero.

We read Neuromancer two years ago with the book club. Feel free to use those threads for your thoughts. :)

I'm about halfway through The Man in the High Castle after just finishing A Scanner Darkly. I'm on a bit of a Philip K Dick run.

Great book!

I'm nearly at the end of Woken Furies by Richard Morgan.  He seems to be a very angry man  :o ;D

The Martian by Andy Weir. Enjoying it. Smart-ass botanist/mechanical engineer stuck on mars. He's kind of a sarcastic Bill Nye the Science Guy/McGyver mix. If they had a love child, it would be this guy.

I loved The Martian. Probably my favourite book of the year so far. I have to admit to having a fondness for science fiction that has an engineering focus despite having no particular skills in that field myself. Another Martian engineering novel I greatly enjoyed is Voyage by Stephen Baxter. The BBC made a pretty good radio play of it, too.

In a few days i will start in The sirens of titan by Kurt Vonnegut or The Forever War by Joe Haldeman. Which one should i choose? O heavenly dilemma!

The player of games, which i am reading now, is a true masterwork btw! I really like Iain Banks his style.

Just finished reading HG Wells War of the Worlds for the first time. Massive fan of the musical version since childhood and grew up with the earlier films, never felt like reading the book. Glad I have at last and a shame I didn't read it sooner.

Shame on me, but it's probably the first sci-fi I've ever read! Love sci-fi TV/film, but not been drawn to sci-fi books that much. I think it would be too dangerous to start right now too with so much fantasy I need to catch up on.

Shame is not needed young friend. Science fiction and Fantasy are not nearly the same. Both fantastic, yes. But not nearly the same. I mostly read Science fiction. But it is my occasional wanderlust into the Fantasy genre that brought me to this place: fantasy Faction. Which deserves much kudos for there Science fiction support.

Have fun reading H.G. He wrote a damn good book. Enjoy!
