Extra treat, many thanks @Rostum - you are significantly improving today . ;D

I just realised how that might read  ;D ;D ;D I meant "The day was significantly improved by the enjoyment of your posts".  ;D ;D ;D
Haha I read it as "you are significantly improving on this day"  ;D
I wish the world was flat like the old days, then I could travel just by folding a map.

Yup, that wasn't what I meant at all ;D
I imagine arguments being swallowed back, wine spit in glasses and gurgling up bottles. I imagine my ring sliding off my finger, Bobby's lips hot on mine for the first time again, and then unknown to me.

Ok a little bit of research. Waterstones special editions contain the short stories. I believe Ben worked for them so that may explain why they are so favoured.

short stories in the Rivers of London series are:

The Home Crowd Advantage in the 'London Edition' of Rivers of London
The Domestic in the special Waterstones edition of Whispers Under Ground
The Cockpit in the special Waterstones edition of Broken Homes
The Loneliness of the Long Distance Granny in the special Waterstones edition of Foxglove Summer

If anyone can find a legitimate online copy of The Domestic, The Cockpit and The loneliness of the Long Distance Granny please post up the links in this thread.

Apparently the plan is for a short story anthology as soon as there is enough of them to make a book.

If you dig through the usual Tmblr nonsense someone has been kind enough to transcribe King of Rats.

Many thanks for that news Rostum - wow not so long to wait after all. I hadn't pre-ordered because sometimes if its ages I forget I've done it and pre-order elsewhere again.  ::)

Just put my order in thanks to you, but bad news is the p&p cost 8.43 sterling nearly as much as the hardback itself. Just wanted to make certain I had a good copy and a UK edition to match the rest, so for once it is worthwhile as these are high on my list of favourites.

They did that all the time with Scott Lynch's books, think they completely make up ones honestly as asking the publisher and Scott Lynch neither had confirmed or announced anything about release dates (this was before Republic of Thieves was released).

So yea. Amazon, bookseller superheroes.

Thanks Mr.J , Amazon is so annoying, have cancelled yesterday's pre-order. Can't guarantee to be around next June. ;)

Not morbid, I'm not a pessimist,  just realistic - enjoy every minute most days and hope there will be plenty.  ;D

Amazon are notorious for this. I can remember during the wait for A Dance with Dragons they not only gave it a release date they also had a page count. This rather bemused George Martin, because at the time even he didn't have a page count.
I will expand your TBR pile.
