Fantasy Book & Author Discussion / Re: What are you currently reading?

Oh, yeah; "Personal Demon". I vaguely remember that one; it's been a while since I've read it. I love the "Women of the Otherworld" series; mostly the books about the werewolves, though. She writes them exactly how I think they should be; people who morph into wolves, not half-wolf / half-man beasty things. :P The novellas that she posts on her website (some of which she's collected in a few novels ["Men of the Otherworld" and "Tales of the Otherworld"]) are also pretty damn fantastic.

Currently, I'm reading Myst: The Book of Ti'Ana again (hehehe, I'm prepping for the movie). After that, I have no idea what I'm going to read... But I have Waking the Witch and The Reckoning, both by Kelley Armstrong and ArchEnemy by Frank Beddor in my "to-read" pile.

Best Zombie book I've read is 'FEED' by Mira Grant aka Seanan McGuire. Here's the website for the book:

Well worth reading.

Wayne aka The Mad Hatter

YES YES YES. "Feed" was AMAZING. I CANNOT wait for the next book!  ;D

I've been hearing a lot about "Name of the Wind" here, but I've never heard of it before... So I think that'd be a perfect pick!

Not sure about the others but 'Brayan's Gold' is sadly just a novella (about 100 pages long) so although I am excited about it... I am not as excited about it as if it was a 'real' novel as such :)

The other two I will have to look up ;)

Regardless of length, I think it's going to be amazing. :P

As for "The Omen Machine" and "Twilight's Dawn", they're continuations of the larger series those authors have written. So, if you're interested, you should definitely read the rest of their series!

I'm so sad that no one has mentioned "The Omen Machine" by Terry Goodkind yet!

Although, I'm also looking forward to "Twilight's Dawn" by Anne Bishop, and "Brayan's Gold" by Peter V. Brett.

For a single book, I'd pick "The Warded Man" by Peter V. Brett, as others have said. I think I've read that novel about five or six times since getting my hands on it.

As for a series, definitely Anne Bishop's "Black Jewels" series. I have read those books so many times, I've lost count. But whenever I re-read them, I always find something new... And it's like coming home to a family that you really love. SUCH a good series.
