Small Press & Self-Published / My first publishing - done
« on: July 12, 2019, 03:21:59 PM »
Hey guys, I got my first "book" published and on amazon.  It's really just a short story (really short) but was more of a test for the bigger book I have coming out in a few months.

Any Feedback would be awesome.  And it's Free, so you can check it out for free, obviously.

Writers' Corner / Ghostwritten short stories-->book
« on: June 24, 2019, 05:52:40 PM »
So this may seem a bit weird, but stick with me a minute.  I had 10 stories ghostwritten for me from 10 different freelancers.  They are all on the same topic/genre/etc, and I of course have permission to use them for commercial use.

My question is, how should I go about "authoring" my book.  Clearly I don't want to put my own name to it and say I wrote them all, because it's obvious all the stories have different "voices".  On the cover should i just say "compiled and edited by (my name)".  And leave the name blank under each story?  Or come up with a pen name for each short story in the book?

Does that make sense?  any help/ideas would be appreciated.

That's actually a good title, but from your description I thought that the monsters at the door was the end of the story - you don't want your title to be a spoiler, do you?

Yeah, that's pretty much the end of the story, or 3/5 of the way thru.  Which is why I was having a little bit of difficulty.  I mean, after he wakes up and goes out the door, there's some dialog and killing and stuff that happens after he goes outside.
................

the hunter does have this thing where he has a notebook he writes all of his kills.  What if I called the book "The Monster Notebook"?

I kind of like that.

what do you guys think of it for a book title?

What was the short story name you were thinking of?

I was going to call the story "Monsters at the door"

Are you really asking us for title suggestions without giving any hint of what the story is about? :o

haha sorry, i guess it was more of a general question about the short story-->book title and if they should be the same

but the story is about a dude who goes out and kills monsters, and he kills a bunch, then goes to an abandoned inn to sleep, then in the morning he gets woken up by something, he goes to the door and there's 100's of different monsters there, and they come at him, and he wrecks face!

Going to be publishing a book, which is really just a short story, like 2K words.  But I just can't think of a title for it.  I know what I'd call it if it were just a short story, but it seems like the title to it if it's actually coming out as a book should be a little different/more grabbing?

any suggestions?
