General Discussion / Re: Got a blog? Share it!
« on: December 12, 2018, 07:20:29 AM »
Mine's not a blog but a site that I'm closely involved with as a teacher and my students absolutely love it.
It's an educational site for making flashcards online and study for exams.

Cram it is.

My students love playing the word games Stellar Speller, Jewels of Wisdom.

Depression is a feeling. It's a feeling that doesn't let you feel anything else. It's a feeling of low self-esteem, low self-confidence, loneliness, sadness, and loss of hope.

Even the smallest things seem to go wrong in your life. Even the tiniest happiness that you see makes you worried that something bad is going to happen because you're not used to good things happening to you.

Depression is that feeling that makes you hate yourself and forces you to lose the battle that you fight each and everyday right from the time you get out of bed.

But all of that makes you stronger only if you choose to come out of that feeling. There's nothing like it when you look back and see what you've survived through. You start to feel proud of yourself and you should feel that way!

Whether or not to choose self-publishing is really a matter of choice. SP gives you an option to quickly get visibility on Big Etailers like Amazon.
You just need to sign up on an SP platform like KDP or Lulu.
I mean it's a good option for new writers to get published and test the waters.
Also, it's really difficult to hunt down a publisher and convince them to publish your work.

Trust me. Nowadays there are a lot of places like Goodreads where a new author can sign up and build anticipation for their books. Good promotion skills mean you can make good money.

People keep looking for new stories and quality content to read.

Just finished Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I found this useful vocabulary checker writing tool from 123HelpMe. It's quite helpful when writing anything.

Fantasy Resources / Re: Employment in a futuristic world

I'm wondering that in a futuristic world what jobs will be left for humans? Robots doing everything and AI and Machine learning managing the robots, Do humans even exist?

Some will be maintaining the machines but what about the rest?

Sounds cliched but if you haven't already read it, try reading "The Shining," by Stephen King.

Started reading Dr. jekyll and Mr. hyde that I Found on bartleby. Wanted to read some old literature that my mom suggested. It's going well.

According to a theory, the 13th Lord Commander of Night's Watch (A Stark) also known as the Night's king fell in love with a female white walker. They wed, and ruled for 13 long years.
It is believed that the stark decendents carried the blood of white walker and so did Lyanna stark, making Jon one half ice and as known, his father is Rhaegar, it makes him one half fire.
So he is the song of ice and fire.

Writers' Corner / Re: Tips on how to write good
« on: June 12, 2017, 10:43:57 AM »
Right now, I'm going through a writer's block and have been trying different suggestions from friends to write a decent story.

Nevertheless, they have been helping to clear my mind. One I personally find useful is using flashcards to roughly put down my ideas onto something. I use Cram for it. Later when I'm back, I'll stitch these ideas together for my story.

Fantasy Resources / Re: Torture

Torture can vary with the person. For instance, I have a friend who suffers from depression and anxiety panic attacks and defines that as torture. But others who don't have it don't feel the same.
