I think I was one of the first readers to arrive here at  FF . Back then it was about 25-30 people, I almost shit myself seeing the amount of usernames (900 something pages full of them)...

Anyway never stopped reading ofcourse, just different things to do but I really enjoyed some of the discussions here, so getting back in it and trying to find some new stuff to read.

See you out there :-)

Hmm. Finished it! Nice book for sure, best book ever?? Not by a long shot!
A good read and nice to see more on some key characters. What annoyed me a lot is the Interlude chapters. I've forgotten this of the first book...

If you liked the first, you will defenitly like this one also!

Hey, what's up!!! I think I was one of the very first members here. Left a good 2 years, but I've got more time now and looking for new books to read...

Be seeing you guys!

I suggest you read The Steel Remains by Richard Morgan (Gay main character) or Farlander by... (Black main character), but  like someone said before, when I think about some great fantasy novels I've read and imagine the main character black, Mexican, Chinese,...  It doesn't change my feeling on the books. A kick ass story is still a kick ass story...

Hi guys!

Most of you would have got your copy of 'Wise Man's Fear' by now - How is it living up to expectations? :)

Rub it in will you!!

It's here! Not without incident, I saw the postman pick it up in the van and it dropped through the bottom of the packaging, but thankfully only the dust jacket is a bit creased and it should come out. It's huge!

Still nothing here... How long can it take to ship it from the UK to Belgium. Man, I can almost throw it across the canal (and I say that with a very straight face). Dispatched on Friday. Guess I'll start mailing then...

Bloody hell, moth******** bookdepository where is my damn book!!!

[FEB 2011] The Name of the Wind / Re: Who didn't finish? :P
« on: February 27, 2011, 08:40:40 PM »
I got 112 pages left... I'll finish them by tomorrow no doubt but it was very close!!!

(I also read Game of Thrones, Prince of Thorns, Doctor Faustus and a couple University related books)

I never expected it to be so long... that was certainly a big read for me :O I wouldn't be surprised if a few of you are having to carry it over to next month?

A few things pop up; "Slow ass reader, language difficulty, no stamina,..."  ;) ;D  Let's just keep it at "I timed it so I can start book 2 right after I finish book 1". Yes, that sounds much better. Come on Overlord!!!

I didn't like it also! Totally not buying the next book! Bloody crap! ;)

3/5 is my rating for it. There are supposed to be 2 more books coming out. I'll still be reading them, cause they have potential and I just hate to leave a series unfinished...

Well, Overlord... I think you've just found your review for this for the site. :P I'm having a hell of a time getting through it for my "official" review due at the beginning of next month...

I saw a familiar title on the list :)

Avatar made when I was still GFX-ing and doing battles online. (those were the days, too much free time). It's from the SUPER cool anime series called Afro Samurai (voice by Samuel L Jackson).

I just bought Small Favour (which appears to be book 10 in the Dresden Files) in a hardback for 49p, however I haven't read any other Dresden Files books - my question is do I have to start at book 1 to understand anything, or can I read this one now and then start from the beginning if I like it?

I would definitely recommend reading them from the start. Too much Intel that you will be missing. Lot's of characters from previous stories jump in and out. So start from the beginning and you'll love it!!
