Fantasy Book & Author Discussion / What did you read in August?
« on: August 31, 2017, 11:33:22 PM »
Here it is: The what did you read this past month thread.

Come share your list and what you thought of the books you read last month. We're not looking for full out reviews, just a brief couple of sentences that sum up your impressions.

This is also not a contest for who read the most books, I know some of us struggle to find time to read one book a month, and others manage a dozen. That doesn't matter, so don't feel reluctant to post if you have read less books (or way more books) than others. This is all for sharing, and if you read anything, come let us know what it was and what you thought of it.

General Discussion / Travel recommendations? Paris, Bruges and London
« on: March 22, 2017, 01:21:08 PM »
So, I am headed to Paris, Bruges and London this summer with my husband and boys (ages 12 and 14).Right now we just have our airline tickets, into Paris, and out of London, so we're trying to nail down how long to stay in each place, and also figure out if there are any day trips we might want to book out of Paris or London. We have a total of 12/13 days (arrive morning of July 2, leave July 14)

Figured it was worth seeing if there were any recommendations, particularly for things that would be good for boys that age?  ;D

My 12 year old is pretty sensitive and has been adamant he does not want go to Paris Catacombs, he definitely couldn't handle London Dungeon. We will likely split up sometimes, because my boys have different interests, so if I were to take my older son to London Dungeon, my younger son could hit the aquarium. I am hoping to find some things they would both enjoy.

I have installed a modification that allows for any user to make their own posts Anonymous.

Please note, it will not auto-magically make a reply Anonymous, you must first expand the "Attachments and other options" menu at the bottom of your post and then manually check the box for "Post Anonymously":

Any questions, ask away! Hopefully this will make the process of anonymous submissions easier, just have to be careful to always remember to check that box before submitting your reply that you wish to be Anonymous. Whenever @xiagan requires an Anonymous submission month, everyone will be required to submit this way (or use the old way if you wish, but you wont be able to update your post as easily)

Thought you guys might be intereste in seeing @Overlord post today incase you missed it:
http://fantasy-faction.com/2017/will-fantasy-faction-shut-down

So before the panic sets in, no, doesn't sound like it will. But I completely understand the stress and the need to take a step back and delegate work load. Running a site like this has got to be a ton of time and effort and with it being so big, everything is quite public and open to more criticism than a smaller site (and the expectations grow as well).

Real life should always come first, so I just wanted to post a thank you to @Overlord and mention his efforts and the site in general is apprecitated :)
