Writers' Corner / Is your reality fantasy?
« on: November 13, 2017, 05:01:32 PM »
If you set your story in the world you really believe exists, how many people would consider your work fantasy? If you explored the edge of your own belief system and presented the raw edges of what you believe, what are the chances that someone might take it as urban fantasy?

I have witnessed it, but i don't see it happening even if my books ever go viral. I am such a sniveling groveler that I am carrying my latest review, printed and in my pocket. I hope someday to reach the point where I am expected to fake some emotional distance, but right now my heart is on my sleeve.

Some really great authors, that I have gotten to talk with, never seemed out of reach. Maybe it is just the personality of the author.

How about you? How many books will you have to sell before you stop desperately adoring your fans?

Fantasy Resources / Original Sources for Fantasy
« on: October 02, 2017, 06:10:33 PM »
I enjoy knowing and using the early and original sources for writing fantasy. The book sources are often rather expensive. They are also not as easily searched through so I would of be delighted to learn of more sources online. If you try to find, price and then search through a copy of the Auraicept https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Auraicept_na_n-%C3%89ces, https://archive.org/details/auraicept00calduoft, you will know exactly what I mean. I own a copy and treasure it, but I find myself using a copy that I downloaded from  archive.org, https://archive.org/details/texts.

One of the best sources for ancient writing that I have found, apart from archive.org, is sacred-texts.com http://www.sacred-texts.com/index.htm
