General Discussion / Je suis un Européen
« on: March 23, 2016, 06:05:38 AM »
I would like to declare to the science fiction and fantasy writing community that I stand proudly with the people of Europe.  Genetically, I carry little of Europe with me.  Socially, they are separated from me by oceans.  In my heart though I see the brave way in which the people of Europe are facing an onslaught of terror and cowardice with dignity, bravery, and resolution, and I am humbled.

Je me tiens avec l'Europe dans son heure de troubles! Les lâches ne seront jamais gagner face à votre fer de vos âmes.

It really does not help my writing at all to fall back and spring forward.  I seem to loose weeks of quality writing.

Introductions / Steve Jackson

Hello,

My name is Steve Jackson.  I work in television and film, but am also a game designer and writer.  I run a writer's seminar and write pretty steadily, most of it not worth reading, but I have my moments.

I love reading and watching Sci-Fi, and Fantasy, and use forums to try and get a handle on what I will be reading in the future.

I have about three months before I seriously have to start writing again, and I am lost.  I used to belong to three forums and have my literary club, but my work and writing has made a monk of me for the past year.

I need a book, preferably newly written and maybe small press or indie.  Or better yet, three books that I can read and clear my head before I have to throw myself back into writing.  I would appreciate suggestions.  My preference is not for big authors or older works, chances are I have read them already, but for something smaller and more obscure.

Small Press & Self-Published / Adjeness

I am actually visiting my old hangouts for reading suggestions for my writing downtime, but my need for good fantasy has been caused by my finally getting some of my back catalog off the desk and into publications.

Adjeness is pretty old, I first published it in 1981 and was able to get the rights back for it, but it was the start of the series and eventually lead to the more popular Total Eclipse series.  Anyway, I hope anyone who reads it enjoys it.
