Just been reading Republic of Thieves, probably the best gentleman bastards book  so far imo. Now I've just got to decide what's next.

While I certainly like a good dragon cover and Hooded figure cover, I find that my favourites tend to be the more simple covers, ones with a symbol or images that only have a limited amount of colour, they attract my attention but I'm more inclined to see what the story is like.

I've been reading Words of Radiance which was great but with that now finished, I think I'll start The Republic of Thieves book later.

Finished the book yesterday, seems like one of the best books that I've read imo, or at least definitely my favourite, now I'm just waiting for the third.
Considering I wasn't that much of a fan of Shallan, once she got past the travelling part of the story, I started to take a liking to her, I really liked the other characters as well, especially Kaladin.

I personally didn't mind Kaladin's whole disliking the lighteyes, a lot had happened and the arrival of
Spoiler for Hiden:
Amaram
certainly seemed to make it worse. When he got over it though the moment felt very satisfying, for me at least.

Plus I'm hoping the reunion of Kaladin and his family is good moment in the story.

The Waterstone's near me doesn't have old man war so I'm waiting for that to hopefully appear at some point.
What would some good Star Wars books be to read? I read some years ago but not recently.

Sci-Fi, Horror, YA & Urban Fantasy Books / Starcraft
« on: February 08, 2013, 02:25:42 PM »
Hi, I'm wondering if the Starcraft books are any good. I've not played the games and don't plan to either (not a PC gamer) but the universe looks interesting. Since the game is a RTS game though I'm assuming most of the story takes place in cutscenes so I wouldn't need to play the game to get the story so can anyone tell me if the books are any good and if so, which are the best to begin with?

Guess I'm lucky that I have no problem reading in a car lol

I like having a physical copy of the book but I can see how practical ebooks are, my only problem would be that if I started using eBooks, I'd probably end up wanting the books I already have, on eBook.

I'll read nearly anywhere, only avoiding reading in bed. My favourite places would be in a car or train though for some reason.

Finished Memory of Light on Saturday which I thought was amazing, bit sad there's no more WoT now.
Now I'm just starting Moonraker.

I'd expect maybe 40 this year unless I encounter another Dune which slows the reading to a crawl.

I'm currently read A memory of Light which I'm thoroughly enjoying after a break to read some Sci Fi. Switching genres is a better way of reading than I thought.
