All in all that's a success story :)

I'm finally getting round to watching Community. After season one's paintball battle episode I'm hooked.

Could you post some examples for us? I would be able to tell more from that.

Tight prose essentially just means avoiding waffling on all very longwinded when you could replace a paragraph with a single line and still get the same out of it.

"She ran fast down the long and winding road, then with an enormous jump, leapt over the hedge"
Could easily be tightened up to:
"She sprinted down the street and leapt over the hedge."

It's always good to finish off a draft :) That feeling of accomplishment and relief!

Just for some fun, SPFBO judge Timy has rounded up a bunch of authors (no idea who!) to write a free serialized story.

Read Part 1 of 'The Butcher Queen', as I kick off this season of To Be Continued...

I started off this story, but other authors will carry it on and finish it - I have no idea how this story will end, but I can't wait to find out!

The Gutter Prayer would get a recommendation from me as well.

Out of those I've only read We Are The Dead, but it's really, really good.

Hey folks, just a heads-up that submissions for SPFBO (Self-Published Fantasy Blog-Off) 6 will open at 1pm GMT on the 23rd of May 2020. The contest itself will kick off on June 1st.  If you are planning on entering, good luck!

Woohoo! :)

I haven't been reading much lately, so decided to dip into re-reading Hellblazer again. Damn, it's as good as always.

I've been a bit like that for the last few weeks, given everything else going on in the world right now. I'm starting to get back on track with writing but my reading is still few and far between.

I'm playing Bannerlord or X4 whenever I get the chance.

I'll be venturing into self-administered hair cutting this weekend as well. Eep. At least if I mess it up nobody will get to see it.

My next dark fantasy book is currently out on submission to editors...during all of this...with publishing staff and editors getting furloughed. It's been...interesting...so far.
