Oooh data ;D

My top 3 are:
1. Robin Hobb = 16
2. Terry Pratchett = 15 (or, if you include the 'Science of Discworld' books too, 19)
2. Mark Lawrence = 13

Impressive. I thought this thread would have a lot of Pratchett as the man has 50+ books out. But you seem to have read everything I have in print and more besides. Good going  :D

I write them, but shamefully … I never read them.

I've got … counts on fingers ... eleven … and number 12 is due out tomorrow.

Even to me that seems a lot.

I've recently finished Stange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor, which I really enjoyed!

Currently reading An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir, which I am not liking so much. Maybe too YA for me.

I'll be honest. I've been "reading" Locke Lamora for about a month now and haven't gotten to page 100. Finding it hard to get into it.

I shared your experience but pushed on and after the slow start (where I thought there were some very nice lines) it got much better and I really enjoyed it.

It's a weird engine. It's even more impressive when you realise that it is picking the character from not only all books but from every real person of note in history too. Choose a politician, monarch or celebrity and it will get them.

The weird bit is how it asks contradictory questions like "is your character bald?" yes "does your character have red hair?", and also repeats questions.

But very fun. And I was impressed that it even got characters from my books.

Pretty sure I fail to qualify under the "posted in the last month" rule.

Social media seems to have done away with forums in the main. Which is a shame.

Jorg Ancrath in the Broken Empire trilogy without a shadow of a doubt.

Hooray  :D

Not sure who I would choose. Robin Hobb's Fitz has a long and entertaining book life, not sure if I would call it satisfying.

Some great unfinished arcs in A Song of Ice and Fire. Jaime and Tyrion, but also maybe Aria and Sansa.

Roadbrothers hardback arrived today there appears to be 2 extra stories over the original ebook version.

Four more stories in fact! Constituting a 50% increase in the number of words.

Red Sister is 99p on UK Amazon. Not my doing or the publishers. Amazon's taking the hit.

Spread the word, we need 250+ or we all get the year off.

Hey @Mark Lawrence, not sure if you read your mentions on here, but I figured I'd ping you regardless. This is the third SPFBO you've done, which is awesome, but I'm curious. Have you considered opening a contest for science fiction? A Self-Published Science Fiction Blog Off? There's a lot of great self-published SF out there, but I haven't seen any contests similar in scale to the SPFBO to promote it. Have you considered changing the genre for future contests?

You'll need someone passionate about SF to put the work in on that one. Someone who can identify and enthuse SF bloggers. Give it a go yourself?

Fantasy Art / Fan Art / Re: Mark Lawrence's Broken Empire Book Mark

I couldn't find any book mark on the internet for the Broken Empire books, so I went ahead and used Jason Chan's award-winning and fantastic artwork together with one of Mark Lawrence's many brilliant quotes to create this.

Size: 5.5cmx18.5cm

Hope you like it, and feel free to share it with other fans of the books!  :)

I really should have some made up ... would have to ask JC for permission first...

Also, those who didn't like the previous books for all the violence, please give this one a try.
Yes, there are fights, but it's above all, a book about feelings, about acceptance, about finding your path in life.
It's a book that should be mandatory reading for all young girls.

Also for old girls. And men. And those defying categories. MANDATORY!

I'm very glad you liked it.

The US release is today and UK on Thursday, so hopefully you'll have more people to talk to about it soon!
