Re: Prince of Thorns - Book Discussion (SPOILERS) What makes Jorg do seemingly impossible things with ease is because he focuses solely on his objectives, his wants and his needs, without a single thought for anything else.

What restrains you from achieving things, nowadays? You follow the law, you think about the other people in society, you have a sense of what you can and cannot do.
Jorg ignores all that.

You want to be rich? Just kill the people with money and get their stuff. Or rob a bank, and keep destroying everyone who comes after you.
You want that Ferrari in the shop? Just enter and take it.
You want to fly to New York tonight? Just go to the airport and highjack a plane.
See? Perfectly easy, if you forget all society rules you've been taught or are seemingly innate.

Edit: oops seems that this is basically what Xia said in different words...

Just Finished Emperor of Thorns So I just finished The Broken Empire Trilogy....that was a beautiful ending.  There are few trilogies/series that end with me completely satisfied, but Emperor of Thorns nailed it.  The growth of Jorg from Prince, through King, and ending with this book was incredible.  I felt like I had known this character for years instead of the month it took to read the trilogy.  I felt proud of his moments of relative triumph and closed the book with a smile.  This was a fantastic journey, and a damn fine read.

Re: Pick my new series for me! You know I have to vote for Mark Lawrence ;) but I'm actually not sure if it's really your style.
I also voted for Smiler's Fair, because I really enjoyed that.

And I haven't read the others.

Re: Pick my new series for me! Didn't read any of those, but read Prince of Thorns, so I voted Prince of Fools.

Re: Pick my new series for me! The only one of that list I've read is Prince of Fools, but hope you would enjoy it. Different from Thorns, in general lighter and quite funny in places. ;D
