Re: Magical Sex Change
There's nothing new under the sun.

Going back to Greek mythology, the blind prophet Tiresias was turned into a woman for seven years.  The version I like links it to Hera and Zeus arguing over which gender gets more pleasure from sex.  They transformed Tiresias so he could experience both.  When he announced that women get more pleasure from sex (specifically ten times as much), Hera was so mad she struck him blind.  In compensation, Zeus gave him foresight and an unnaturally long life.

Moral: Never take sides when a married couple is arguing.  Especially if they are petty and powerful.

Just because there's "nothing new" doesn't mean we can't challenge things. I for one am pretty fed up seeing transgenderism/gender defying as a plot twist or a "quirk". And world who see it as bad and wrong and eurgh. I know analogues of older civilisations are prevalent in fantasy fiction, but come the fluff on people, we can do better.

Re: The King's Paws I survived Canada! Have been headed by work since then though.

Got a huge backlog of books now though! And need to prep for BristolCon, since I am staff there. Who else is coming to Bristol?

Re: Ye Old members of Lore That’s quite the compliment! Unfortunately I am super slammed at work, like all the time, so don’t have the headspace for it anymore.

Being the senior on a team is hard work!

Besides, I’m more of a poetry wanker these days.

Re: Ye Old members of Lore Yeah, I started a pirate RPG because I’m that sort of nerd.

And I’m pretty sure I wasn’t responsible for those songs. If it had been George Michael, maybe.

Re: Ye Old members of Lore He would.

I will not have my good name (ha!) slandered, thank you very much!
