*peeps head around corner* Hello? I never truly know what to say in posts like this...

Fantasy-Faction followed me on Twitter a long time ago and I followed back, but did not give it much thought, until recently.  I witnessed on my timeline the bit of drama that recently happened here (not to bring it up, sorry), and something stuck out to me.  This site seemed to have a very loyal and polite fan base.  I was amazed by the maturity, friendliness, and "come together" moments that I witnessed, and well...it made me want to be a part of that.

I could probably make this post 250k words long, but I'll refrain from the details LOL.  Basically, I'm a lover of Fantasy stories (of any type..reading, watching, listening, etc).  I have a Youtube/Booktube channel dedicated to talking about fantasy books.  I have my twitter in which I do the same.  Basically...I'm like the rest of you, I'm gathering lol.

I'm also a struggling author.  I've always wanted to tell the tale that is in my head, but I've never written anything before.  So I am working through the mental issues of figuring out how to write, the fear of writing, and the self-esteem attached to it.  It's been a struggle.

I've had a lot of trouble finding people to connect to oddly enough (you would think it would be easy in this day and age), so this is my feeble attempt to join a community and hopefully make some friends, and possibly find some individuals to help me through my writing dream.  The twitter community seemed so friendly, so I have hopes that the messegeboard one will prove to be equally nice :D

Thanks everyone!

Re: Which novel got you into reading, which author would you like to thank The first book that I really remember reading and loving was "The Indian in the Cupboard" back in the 1980's.  But the series that really got me into Fantasy Reading Was Melanie Rawns "Ruins of Amrbai" series, but in the mid 90's.

I always credit those two series of books to be the start of my reading journey :)

Re: *peeps head around corner* Hello? Thanks everyone for the warm wishes!  Btw, I'm a male, not female...perhaps my avatar is throwing people off? Haha.

I look forward to poking around some more and seeing what I can dig up.  Seems like a friendly place thus far!

I very well may join the writing contest, it sounds like a lot of fun!

Re: What are you currently reading?
reading the first two back-to-back.  By the time I'm done with the first two...I want to move onto another story.
:o I could never do that!!!
I love reading full series back-to-back...

(everyone's soooo different ;D)

Yea I always tell myself it shouldn't be a problem to read all 3 back-to-back-to-back, but then after two, I find myself itching for a switch for some reason.

It's like that dog in the movie "UP". ....

..."I love this story so much, it so great, and wonderful and.. *turns head to the left*  OH LOOK!  SHINY BALL!  *runs towards ball*.   ;D

Re: Miscellaneous Musings about Books
Thief!

I always hear about amazing bargains and finds people get in charity shops and whenever I go in its a million copies of Dan Brown, Jilly Cooper and 50 Shades.

This literally made me laugh out loud, because that is EXACTLY what every Charity shop I've been to in recent memory has.  I swear, it's 40 rows of Dan Brown and at least 6-7 sets of 50 Shades (or Twilight).

Why is Dan Brown so prevalent in thrift stores?  Its so strange.

;D
I didn't know this! What do cruise directors do, really? :D

I think they just point people to where all the fun is!   :D  Sounds like a great job, IMO.

Re: Game of Thrones theories (spoilers) Who kills Cersei in the final final episode? I guess it depends if your talking the book series or the TV show.  IMO, GRRM has hinted *way* too much that it'll be Jaime.  Everything has lined up perfectly for it to be him.

The TV show very well may go in a different direction, but a part of me doesn't think that will be the case.  IMO, The Hound, Brienne, and Jaime will wind up in Kings Landing.  Jaime will kill Cersei, The Mountain will then kill Jaime (setting up both Jaime/Cersei to die together), and The Hound/Brienne will wind up taking out The Mountain.  That way Brienne can have a little tear-jerker scene with Jaime dying in her arms.  Cersei is killed by her brother, and The Mountain dies at the hand of his brother.

It puts a nice little bow on the entire plot line, and ends the story arc.
