Re: Part 3: Chapter 21 to the End
I also still really like Haung, (managed to get the girl in the end  :) ) he shows his good side by sparing Zhou's life when he captured Hsin and possibly saved his life. Something I'll think he'll regret. I think there will be a big face off between them at some point.

One of my favorite scenes! Other one is the one with the mother...

Re: The Stone Road: Ask the Author! I'm not slow myself - I've read 60 books this year says my goodreads challenge...
I just can't stick to one! I usually have at least 5 books started... I jump around between audio, eBook and print a few times a day.

Re: Part 3: Chapter 21 to the End
I finished a few days ago! I enjoyed it and thought it was less formulaic than lots of stuff out there. I'll offer some more detailed thoughts soon, but overall, I'd give it 4/5 stars. I'll post a review to Amazon and Goodreads in a bit.

Now I'm going to read over everyone's comments. :)

Everyone who finishes should post a review. I did mine on Amazon last week.

I write a goodreads review for EVERY book I read ????  And be it just a few sentences...

Re: The Stone Road... Trivia Contest! Ha, that is a pretty cool prize!  ;D
Best one I won this year! (Though that isn't to hard, as it is the only thing I won so far... ;) )

Re: Do you avoid 'YA'? What does it mean? I read and love a lot of YA. I grew up with the YA fantasy section in our little bookshop (it was already a section in the late 90s here in Germany). There is a difference, as in protagonists being younger, not so much sex/gore and usually a not so complex story, as to keep it an easy read.
Some of course are riddled with clich├ęs and angst, but so are a lot of adult books.
I especially love books like Bartimaeus, Lockwood, Panem, Otori, Steelheart, Potter and such. I really wouldn't want to miss those!

Re: Part 3: Chapter 21 to the End
I'm looking forward to seeing where the journey goes from here, wherever that is I'm hoping there will be more magic?!?

As ScarletBea already said - there'll be a lot more magic in it!
I "only" liked the first, loved the second and devoured the third. You can actually see how GR learns more and more with every book. :)

Re: Depression is a bitch... from a friend I just now found this threat, and read it from the very start.
First off - I'm hugely proud of you all being able to speak (or rather write) so openly about real life crisis.
I found that speaking is really the first necessary step to getting better.
I love the positivity in this forum and especially in this thread!

And secondly - much love and good thoughts to you Bea! Really shity that'll you'll have to have a second surgery, but from what I read you really are a fighter, and you'll get though this better than most people could!
I really hope it'll all work out and you'll soon be able to be back at your friends and then back at home!

(Wanted to give you another fighter for your army, but I'm not intelligent enough to work a picture into the post - especially on the phone...)

Re: Part 2: Chapter 10 to Chapter 20
This part also revealed a lot more magic and mystery and that is just fun. Although the magic system is't really explained it is all fine because it isn't the two main characters who are using it. BUT what happened to Zhou there at the end with the black, white and red and the snakes? Does he have some latent magic powers in him? Mmm, interesting... (And fabulous way of revealing it!)

Now that is going to be a major plot part in the following two books - and actually my favorite parts of the story! :D

Re: Part 3: Chapter 21 to the End
One enjoys that and hopes this slight flaw in his nature will continue to be present in books 2 and 3, which will most assuredly be read.

This one made a wise choice, as books 2 is assuredly better than book one and book 3 is formidable!
