Reading Retribution Falls finally. Have to say that it's pure and utter CHEESE! I mean I'm enjoying it but my god it's deriative and you can see the twists coming a mile off and feel like the writer is constantly winking at you!

I love Jez!

Dear god Crossroads of Twilight is a chore!!

I've heard it was the worst book out of the series and I've managed to get past the dreaded bath scene!

It's over. Knife of Dreams has so much of Mat and Tuon that I love that book. Better times are around the corner.

Re: What are you currently reading? John Gwynne's Faithful and the Fallen series.

Has a GoT vibe combined with the author's penchant for making the protagonist characters suffer that rivals Thomas Covenant.

Halfway through Book 3 and liking it so far.

Is it true she kills dogs off in Assassin's Apprentice? I have put off the series because of this.

Just read the series. Worth far more.

Finished Calamity (last book of the Reckoners). I was about to comment that this book didn't have as much things happening as I'd liked, but it turned out to have a damned awesome ending.
Also totally love the fact what happened to Prof in the end, he is definitely one of my favorite characters from the start and I pitied the things he had to go through and his enormous struggle with his own powers.

There was a rather cheesy-ish part at the end though, haha (a stylized "S" symbol on the chest of a superhero who could fly and shoot laser beams? Wonder where they heard that from).   ;D

It's a very good but underrated series. Excellent premise. They really should make a grittier version of the book probably a Grimdark version.

Re: What are you currently reading? Halfway into Rejoice - A knife to the heart by Steven Erikson.

A alien first contact novel that has no aliens, army or action of any kind. Amazing and refreshing.

Halfway into Rejoice - A knife to the heart by Steven Erikson.

Just finished this. It's not that often, I find a book that totally blows me away and leaves me speechless, one which gives immense mental satisfaction and yet leaves you screaming for me. I found it in Rejoice. This has instantly claimed the peak of my small sci-fi favourites.

It's like Rosseau and Marx in space. A profound analysis and ruthless taking down of current geopolitical and sociopolitical hurdles caused by old fashion greed of power and wealth and unfettered Capitalism. A book which questions things we take as cornerstones of a modern society and brutally tears down the veil.....all cloaked as a alien contact novel.

I'm privileged to have read this book.
