Re: The King's Paws (with one holding a bottle of Peri Peri sauce.) Hey and they probably don't know that WD Frank refers to you as man candy or about all the offers to share prostitutes! (Yes I have read Hearts and Other Dead Things)

Re: What are you currently reading? Finished The Dark Defilies and the trilogy by Richard Morgan. Cerebral Grimdark fantasy with clever and interesting characters in a strange and nasty world.

Read the October Man in a single serving today a nice little novella. Utterly devoid of Peter Grant.

Then onto the God of Broken Things which is off to a good and confident start.

Still reading Nemisis Games on Kindle and will read all of these.

Quote
I'm somewhat disappointed. I read the title as 'singing'...

Likely to be a dirge if he does

Last time I saw him at a Waterstones signing was In Bristol on the last day of the Sharp Ends signing tour. He looked like a week of no sleep and decafinated coffee so look after him @Nora

BTW he is a Whiskey buff

Re: Windup Girl Question: why isn't energy from wind or solar possible? From Memory the book is set in Singapore after a massive collapse of world industry and food production causing a massive world population drop. PVE is a complex industry requiring sustained energy production and parts shipped around the globe. Although Malaysia and China produce a lot of the components. Current turbines require rare earth metals electrical motors a functioning steel and aluminium industries and the ability to excavate 30 cubic meters and pour that amount of concrete for the plinth. These types of energy production can feed into a grid but until we crack how to store this energy it has to be used immediately or lost. I think the book aludes to a slow collapse and the using up of final resources in warfare and corperate induced famine. The drowned cities, shipbreakers and tool of war are set in this world.
