Re: Here Be Dragons by OnlyOneHighlander Finally got it, though I had to resort all of my 600 books on my kindle as I had to move to a UK account. Spent an hour on it and was fuming against amazon, but now all looks nice and shiny!  :D
Looking forward to reading your work, but next please make something dark and gritty, you've got it in you too!!

Re: The King's Paws (with one holding a bottle of Peri Peri sauce.)
Always knew this would come in handy!

Please, PLEASE tell me what that's from.

What?!? You haven't seen Kingsmen?!

I’m called Greg, I work in Waterstones and live in Edinburgh or do I ?  ;)

Truth or lie

Lie. You have no idea about the character you're trying to squeeze into. Man doesn't even like SFF outside comic books so...

Re: The King's Paws (with one holding a bottle of Peri Peri sauce.) Ooooh my goodness! Of course we met! Thing is, you came with your girlfriend and we ended up chatting not so much about the forum, and I remember bugging her about her job at the zoo. Anyway, in my mental map you were "from my shop" - I have a few customers I've gone out for drinks with or gone on walks with, and ended up mentally shelving the two of you as fellow memebers of the SFF world of Edinburgh instead of forum peeps. I'm a total air-head.
(If it's any reassurance, I can't tell who was nighteyes and who was Rostum from our London meet!! I've turned bad with associating who I know from where since I've started living in a hostel. Too many people)
I didn't realise you were part of the board game group. I assume it's a bit far to come on Friday evenings for the meetup, but maybe we could arrange an evening with @OnlyOneHighlander and set out for some board games together?

Re: The King's Paws (with one holding a bottle of Peri Peri sauce.) And I'm finally moving into a flat! Got accepted in a cute wee room in the area of the meadows park. First time living away from the hostel in nearly 2 years. I would have celebrated my 2 years in August, a shitty time of year by all standards there. So, so, soooo glad to finally have a room of my own. One of the Flatmates sounds great too. \o/

Re: The King's Paws (with one holding a bottle of Peri Peri sauce.)
The London Boys! Sounds like a terrible 90s boyband.

A great summary of the situation.

And thanks Lady_Ty. It's going to be some really weird times from now on and for a few days. Getting used to new people and not having all the luxury of the hostel, yet all the luxury of private space...
the hostel is a swamp of sorts. A bog outside of normal Time. In it you live in a bubble society with its own rules and authority. It's biggest perk is the socialising, it's biggest flaw is being so close to people. It changes you and traps you in uneasy limbo. If you're tough enough to stay it becomes hard to leave.
But I truly feel like it was time for me to be gone, and it'll make a world of difference come summer and the festivals.
So I feel morose yet releaved.
I've been extremely anxious since yesterday, with my main contact in that flat being very care free and lazy with answering and proceeding with everything. But I'm truly moving tomorrow and now all I need is a time....

Re: Here Be Dragons by OnlyOneHighlander
Woo! Got my first review and it's a five starer! Delighted. Was that someone on here? I don't recognise the name of the reviewer so maybe my rather hap-hazard marketing strategy is working.

Going to be setting up a website too this week. This self-publishing business is great.

Not me sadly. I was, and still am, in the middle of two books, a crime novel called Six Four, and The Vagrant. When I'm done with both I'll read yours, and before I do any of that I have to sit down and write this month's short story, so my review will realistically come mid-May.

Re: The King's Paws (with one holding a bottle of Peri Peri sauce.) Yay!! I'll be coming this Friday too! Are you able to make it @Carter?

Re: [Mar 2018] - Letters - Voting Thread Thanks to all my five voters! It was a hard sell rescuscitating an old character of mine, so I'm glad the gamble worked at all!
I voted for Jmack and Hormann this month! Great stuff!!

Re: SFF Female Author Recommendation Needed for Work I realise this table has been up for over two weeks now and I haven't posted pictures! Here it is!

Now for mid/late July I'm preping a table of foreign titles. Everything written by non english-speaking authors, or foreigners who wrote in english, but offer a different perspective. I'll make a new thread for that I think.
