Re: Go Vote on the Best Story of 2014! hehehe thing is, you were not the only one - for example, I mentioned the voting to Saraband on a PM, and he hadn't even realised that it was there.
So yes, no need to link the quote to a specific person ie you ;D

Re: The King's Paws Metallica's fine but not for relaxing ;)

No, never heard of George Winston.

Mertens is a belgian composer, contemporary music (piano, string quartets, etc) - released most works in the 90s. I think the only countries who know who he is, apart from Belgium, are Portugal and Spain, dunno why
I've seen him live 3 times now, soooo good (and met him, after sneaking backstage - oh my younger years ;D)

Re: Prince of Fools by Mark Lawrence I've just finished this last night (or is it 'this morning'? It was 4am, actually... oh lovely work-related insomnia again ::))

If you remember from various posts (don't worry, I don't expect you to!), I was quite wary to read this, after loving the Broken Empire so much. That's why it took me so long. I was scared that the new characters were going to intrude on my little bubble of happiness and understanding that the world had caused, and collide.
Now all I can say is "Bad Bea, you should have trusted Mark not to disappoint you in that way!!!" - I loved the book :D
Not *loved* in the same way as the others, but in a very different way that is also part of me.
I actually laughed out loud in several parts, which is something that hasn't happened in a long time, and as for the writing, oh well, Mark continues to create art with words :D

I've just started this, can say I prefer Jalan to Jorg already  :D
Don't get me wrong, I think Jorg is awesome. But this guy sounds more like my kinda thing.
No no no no.
Jalan, for me, is the type of person that is really funny and nice to spend time with if you don't have to depend on him for anything, or do what he wants. After a while, you'll just want to slap him...

For me, this:
I related to Jorg far more easily than to Jalan

So Mark, yes, there were two princes in the book, and I loved both - but Jorg still has a special place in my heart ;)
(I kept waiting for him to spak, but this was much better!)

Side note: interesting (?) that we have 2 names starting with J, but one the nordic J (pronounced I/E) and another the strong J (normal J sound). Sometimes I tripped on Jalan's name, saying 'ee-alan' in my brain, but that didn't sound right to me.

Re: Member birthday calendar
Summer solstice guy here (obviously that means I'm the chosen one... right?)
You're fated to go out on a horse, in a big desert plain, in the direction of the rising sun.
I'm fated to go out on a sledge pulled by big direwolves, in the arctic white, in the direction of the rising moon.

The prophecy is true! I'm going in the direction of the rising sun in May! Though I'm taking a plane >.>  dang it...

Oh Chosen One! We're not worthy! ;D

Re: Member birthday calendar
Is the original post (the list) still being adapted?

Xiiiiiia - pretty please? It's easier to just check the first post than trail through all the pages to discover birthdays...
 :) :)

Re: Why Is It The History Channels "Vikings" Has Slipped Under The Fantasy Radar? Maybe because the History channel is part of the 'super' or 'extra' Sky pack and people with 'normal' Sky don't have access to it :'(

I noticed earlier that the 'Lifetime' channel (I know - what?) is showing season 2, but since I missed 1, I wasn't going to start...
