Re: Hey Folks!
And don't listen to Lady Ty. Liking dragons is sort of like liking the Yankees or Real Madrid.  Their money can buy them anything. And wolves? Well maybe. But goats, now. It's hard work to love a goat (no comments please).

I know I'm supposed to be impartial, priestess of one and all, but sorry Jmack, dragons are better than goats :P might be up there with wolves, but not goats

(and suddenly I anticipate another custom title change in the horizon ;D)
Who? Me? change someone's title? That would be... funny?

;D ;D ;D I check all titles daily now. This last exchange had me ROFL and then knocked coffee all over the desk.

Someone gave me a title but no clue who did it. Maybe there should be a way to see that?

Goats and dragons cannot live without one another. The dragons eat goats and the goats need the dragon dung to grow grass.

Absolutely, no fun without someone to tease. Last time I looked I think Nighteyes had yet a new title.

Which reminds me I made Nighteyes Night Angel and only just noticed, yaaay - Chocolate Cake  and Wild Turkey all round, and  I'll raise a Glen Fiddich to you all ;D

Re: Say Hi, I'm new thread
I'm Shedrick. I'm a full-time librarian and part-time writer trying to do that the other way around. New to the boards and new to the site, but liking what I see. I've been a long-time fantasy reader (and sci-fi as well). I'm a big fan of Neil Gaiman, Michael Moorcock, Jim Butcher, C.S. Friedman, Jacqueline Carey, and Steven Brust. Anyway, happy to be here on the boards  :D

Hello and welcome Shedrick, whoever your favourite authors are you are sure to find other fans here somewhere.  I'm a devoted Dresden addict. :)

@Saurus I am so sorry I wasn't around to help lure you out, the silly time difference sometimes gets in the way. Here's sending you tea and toast for breakfast.

Re: Best Dragon Art? I tried to photo some of my favourite covers but they don't come out clearly enough, so here are links to some  dragons by Geoff Taylor in Katharine Kerr's Deverry series

and my favourite fantasy artist for dragons Michael Whelan, with covers for Deathwing, Dragon Prince, Dragon's Bane and Dragon Fire.

Re: The King's Paws
Thank you guys!
Sometimes I wonder if I should post those things, but you *are* my friends (yeah, I know... saddo... ::) :) )
At least today I don't have to cook, it's yesterday's leftovers.

Of course you should share a dreadful day, at least we can all send sympathy and nonsense to make you smile a little. ;) I'm always late so can only offer breakfast, but here come choc studded croissants and coffee  to give you lots of energy to kickass today  ;D

I am deserting FF temporarily because it is school holidays here and I have been invaded by certain awesome YA who have taken control over my home, my mind, my peace, my fridge and most of the time my computer.
I shall still be reading FF on phone now, although it is a bit small for posting, so don't think you can get away with dragon disrespect -  future revenge will be sweet. >:(

Trust them, if they say not good dont touch it with bargepole. Bad narrator will ruin book for you.  I did vote for two I have which were well read. Enjoy whatever. You owe me for all this ine fingered typing on phone for once appreciate predictive spelling or this woyld have been crazy message. :):)

Re: Avoiding writing, or: How many words didn't you write today? Thought about all you F-F writers and this thread when I saw this

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wonkblog/wp/2015/04/21/the-hour-by0hour-routines-of-historys-most-creative-people/?1234

Apart from Mary Flannery O'Çonnor, of whom I have never heard,  Charles Dickens managed to find a fair bit of time avoiding writing, but still managed huge output so that should make you happy. On the other hand, Voltaire is a bit of a downer  ;D ;D ;D

Seriously, though, apart from Kafka and Murikami, all those authors  created human characters from known worlds, familiar cities, conventional emotions and social conditions.  They all had examples to copy and draw from.  All fantasy authors have to start by being God of their own Universe and create everything and fit it correctly together in relation to all the rest.  Even if you copy some RL it still has to fit that which is not in your  own world.  You are incredibly brave to even attempt to begin. All hail, Heroes ;)

Re: Avoiding writing, or: How many words didn't you write today?
..................Had to actually work for a living? Big time avoidance. I mean, really.

But, I love how these threads go from thing to thing to thing.

 ;D ;D ;D

 - Agreed it is amazing how they all twist and turn and we get so many different ideas and points of view.

Meanwhile for once I did not avoid writing last and actually got to post something in the how many words did you write today thread. Feeling very slightly, just a wee, well a smidgen good about that.  8)

I suppose you expect cake for that?
Spoiler for Hiden:
Well, I found this today and wondered where I could use it, so  here is one celebrating probably your most exciting city and where, as it happens, my YA's and their parents are as of now, possibly even at the top of Miss Liberty.

This isn't meant to be a totally frivolous thread but I couldn't resist this little beauty, so share some with everyone struggling to write today and I will go away and leave you in peace. 8 ;)
