Re: The Virus thread
Do you know if there is a time limit on how  long we can have a walk/run/cycle outdoors for.

I’ve heard on the radio there is a 2km distance rule from your home. Not sure if that’s correct seems a bit short.
Heard a story from a person in France who was stopped by police while going for a walk and told that he was not to go more than a kilometre from his place of origin.

Re: Books You Don't Get How People Can Dislike
How many have we got in our secret  anti Sanderson society now ?
I read Mistborn years ago. Thought it ok-ish. Didn't feel the need the read any more by him.
I read Elantris and then Mistborn, didn't connect with either in any way, shape or form and decided that the author wasn't for me. I'm the same with Malazan, read 2 and a half of them and DNF'ed the 3rd one, because it wasn't my thing and I didn't care about any of the characters or their stories.

Re: Short, Sweet, and Recent Recommendations Amberlough Dossier by Lara Elena Donnelly. Three books beginning with Amberlough going onto Armistice and finishing with Amnesty. You may also like American Hippo by Sarah Gailey.

Re: Need a solid word for my Gin & Magic stories Flicker is the word that keeps coming up in my head. It’s frustratingly insubstantial and fleeting, just like trying to grab hold of magic can be, and it seems to be a word that people know and fits within the time frame comfortably.

Re: Sir Terry Prachett Books I was lucky enough to get The Colour of Magic when it first came out, so was able to read them as they appeared and not overload myself, another good set for a newbie to start with are the Tiffany Aching books which begin with Wee Free Men.

Re: Sir Terry Prachett Books
Going Postal seems to be 33rd book in Discworld series. So, can I just jump in and start reading it without reading prior 32 books?
You can. They’re all relatively self contained, but Discworld books are like potato chips, you can’t stop at just one.

Re: What are you currently reading?
I wanted something fairly easy, so I've started Cinder by Marissa Meyer. A loose science fiction retelling of Cinderella, I didn't expect it to start with a plague killing people off!
Oh my! ;D

OMG the series is amazing! I'm so glad someone here finally got around to reading it. I started the book without much expectations, but I have to say I was really pleasantly surprised. What resembled an alternate version of a Disney princess tale on the first book quickly became a rogue adventure Avengers collection of Disney princesses in later books, and it was totally amazing. I'd heartily recommended the entire series to anyone.
I’ve read all of Marissa Meyer’s work thus far and she never disappoints. My favourite has been Heartless.

Re: Member birthday calendar Thank you all for the birthday wishes. @ScarletBea I wish the weather was pleasant enough for me to lay out in the backyard on a hammock, but alaa in the topsy turvy land of the future, my birthday falls in the middle of winter. Fortunately restrictions here have been eased enough that @Lejays17 and I were able to enjoy a nice lunch at a local restaurant. @xiagan while my birthday does take place just after the beginning of ski season down here, where we live it never gets cold enough to actually snow. It does rarely on the foothills of the Dandenongs, but they're a good 30 to 40 minutes away by car, and it only happens once in a blue moon.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Finished I, Robot and started Planet of the Apes.

Some Sci-Fi for me :)
Wha did you think of Planet of the Apes? I often find it amazing that the other book the author of that is known for is The Bridge Over the River Kwai. Then again John Hilton wrote Lost Horizon and Goodbye Mr Chips.
