Re: Miscellaneous Musings Because I have no sense of direction and can get lost on the head of a pin, I'd probably enjoy a city like Helsinki if it's that easy to navigate, then again it's really cold a lot of the time, so not for me (the only good thing about winter is football aka Aussie Rules). On the other hand despite being directionally challenged I love Venice more than any other city I've ever been to in the world and if you haven't been lost in Venice, then you haven't really been there.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Oh, I finally finished The Iron Goat.
That's Jen's brand new book ;D Requires very strong jaws ;D

Oh bugger. Ghost. Ghost. Iron ghost. As in holy ghost not holy goat!

Haaa! You're not the first person to call it that.  ;) Half tempted to sneak an iron goat in the third book somewhere.
You have to love autocorrect. Hey, if George Martin can do stuff like that in ASoIaF, you can do it in your 3rd book.

Re: Get those priorities right and show some respect.......
Still off topic but had to share as we were discussing censorship and didn't know where else to post it.

A couple in Idaho have brought out the Clean Read App and a catalogue of books where it can be applied.  It will change all the naughty words in your e-books to good decent clean language. So now you know.  ;D How about that.  ;D Just google it and read some of the hilarious articles going around.

Apparently you can choose Clean, Cleaner, Squeaky Clean depending on your mood.

My thought is if you don't like explicit language or can't accept swearing, then you should be choosing your books more carefully, maybe I'm missing something here, or am I being too judgmental? I just found it funny really.
That's up there with some guy I read on Amazon many years ago who said he used a thick black marker to block out all the swearing and sex in the ASoIaF books. I still don't know if he was serious or taking the piss. The other thing is how do you, or anyone, for that matter, decide what is and isn't dirty, even with the 3 options? Let's have us a good old book fuelled bonfire.

Re: [Mar 2015] - Rogues - Discussion Thread
Arrgh! My entry is running 300 words too long!

I have to cut down my baby tomorrow! And shorten the story also!

 ;D

(Don't worry, I have no babies to harm.)
It does give new meaning to the writing advice 'Kill your darlings.'

Re: Get those priorities right and show some respect.......
We lived in Alabama for several years, in the heart of "the Bible Belt."

One day we got a call from our daughter's elementary school.
She was in trouble for bringing a D&D rules book to school, because it had things about witches and demons, plus strange occult drawings. My wife ripped th principal a new one over it. Later, there was much suspicion over Harry Potter.

There was also the time we went to a family festival where they were giving away soccer balls to the kids, a football to the dads and a chance to win a buggy full of groceries to the women. When my wife asked for a football, she was informed quite seriously that since the man is the head of the family, he would be the only one to get a football. We just about had to handcuff Lisa to keep her hands off the fella's neck.  ;D
Different world, isn't it? We have a female rugby commentator down here, and she got a match ball after a game one night. She gave it to her young daughter, and then a day or two later she saw her daughter with the football, she had it wrapped in a blanket and was nursing it like a baby!

Re: The King's Paws Congrats on the new niece, Bea. Always nice to interact with them and then be able to give them back at the end of the gathering, letting their parents deal with the after effects of the sugar high or a very adrenaline filled day.

Re: What are you currently reading?
Please include a goat, even if it's not iron, we need a true-origin-secret to pass to our heirs ;)

Yessssss, it will be a special secret goat reference just for Fantasy Faction ;)
I really like the idea that we get our own secret goat in a book.

Re: [Mar 2015] - Rogues - Discussion Thread
Whoa! Has been a good month, can't wait to find out what April's theme will be  :o
Would be cool if April's theme was "Fools"  ;D
I actually think it should be bunnies. Because hey, Easter and...bunnies.

Re: [Feb 2015] - Fanfic - Voting Thread Congrats Saraband (Miguel), well deserved. Anyone who enters the competition is a winner in my book. It takes courage to write something and then put yourself out there. So well done to all of us!

Re: [Apr 2015] - Werewolf, Vampire, Girl - Discussion Thread
It's kind of sad that the only idea I have for the real theme now has a werewolf, vampire, and a girl in it. But I don't think I go down that road. ;D

Just finished a story on the fight home.
How did you manage to write something during a fight? ;)

EDIT: You beat me to it, Bea! I'm too slow.
Stabbed someone with his pen and then used their blood to write the story.
